MEDICAL DEVICES AND IMPLEMENTS WITH LIQUID-IMPREGNATED SURFACES
Described herein are medical devices and medical implements with high lubricity to flesh (or biological fluid) and/or inhibited nucleation on its surface. The device has a surface comprising an impregnating liquid and a plurality of micro-scale and/or nano-scale solid features spaced sufficiently close to stably contain the impregnating liquid therebetween. The impregnating liquid fills spaces between said solid features, the surface stably contains the impregnating liquid between the solid features, and the impregnating liquid is substantially held in place between the plurality of solid features regardless of orientation of the surface.
SKIN PROTECTANT FILM INCLUDING SKIN HEALTH INGREDIENTS
A no-sting skin protectant film forming composition is formulated with a film forming polymer having both polar and nonpolar characteristics, a no-sting nonpolar solvent system, and at least one skin health ingredient. The no-sting skin protectant film forming composition is configured to form a protective film on a skin surface after the solvent system evaporates.
High barrier elastomer fecal catheter or ostomy pouch
Certain embodiments relate to a soft odor barrier material in a medical device. The soft odor barrier material includes an elastomer and an antiblocking agent. In certain forms, the antiblocking agent imparts an interior rough surface having an arithmetic mean surface roughness (Ra) not less than 0.1 μm. In certain forms, the antiblocking agent is non-blocking upon folding and packaging.
Penile condom catheter for facilitating urine collection and egress of urinary fluids away from the body torso
A penile condom catheter facilitates urine collection and egress of urinary fluids away from the body torso. A circumferential anchoring structure includes a web of flexible strands sized and arranged to at least partially contact a portion of the penis. The anchoring structure provides a flexible yet secure hold against the penis when flaccid and provides an increase in the hold when a longitudinal force is exerted upon the anchoring structure. An annularly circumferential penile skin covering material is affixed to the anchoring structure and sized to fit over at least a portion of the penis. A seal is affixed to at least a portion of a covering material, a covering material orifice, or an anchoring structure. A conduit is affixed to at least one of a covering material, a covering material orifice, a seal and an anchoring structure created to permit the flow of urinary fluid away.
Odor barrier film
A multilayer film for ostomy and bowel management applications includes a barrier layer comprising at least about 90% wt. nylon 6/69. The multilayer film provides excellent mechanical and odor barrier properties, and softness and quietness desired in ostomy and bowel management applications.
IMPROVED WOUND CARE DEVICE
An antimicrobial amphiphilic hydrogel composition for use in haemostasis of a wound comprising: a first cross-linkable amphiphilic component, the first amphiphilic component, in its chemically cross-linked state, being a lyotropic liquid crystal and having an ordered nanostructure of hydrophobic and hydrophilic domains, the hydrogel comprising an antimicrobial agent covalently attached to the hydrophilic and/or hydrophobic domains.
Anti-reflux component for a stomal output collecting bag
Disclosed is a collecting bag configured to collect urine or stomal fluids from a stoma of a user, particularly a urostomy. Further discloses is an anti-reflux component to prevent reflux of collected fluids from a collecting volume to an inlet opening of a collecting bag. The anti-reflux component includes interior, proximal and distal contoured sheets connected to each other such as to define a passage between them towards the collecting volume. The sheets are further attached to each other to define two or more non linear connection zones.

FORMULATIONS AND PROCESSES TO GENERATE REPELLENT SURFACES ON MEDICAL DEVICES
Formulations for preparing repellent coatings on surfaces of substrates, such as medical devices, can include a non-cyclic volatile siloxane solvent such as a linear or a branched volatile alkyl (e.g., methyl) siloxane solvent and mixtures thereof. Such formulations include (i) one or more reactive components that can form a bonded layer on a surface in which the bonded layer comprises an array of compounds having one end bound to a surface and an opposite end extending away from the surface; (ii) an acid catalyst; and (iii) the non-cyclic volatile siloxane solvent. The formulation can also include (iv) a lubricant.
