An airway assist device and methods of making and using an airway assist device to assist in opening an airway or removing fluid or material obstructing an airway of a subject.

Suction tool with integrated optical probe and use thereof

A device and method is provided for a suction tool combined with an optical probe. A suction device is provided having a tip with a hollow tubular body, a plurality of optical fibers embedded in the tip and a concentric ring attached to the tip, wherein the ring end has an inner beveled reflective surface opposing the optical fibers. A method is provided for optically measuring tissue in a medical procedure comprising suctioning a tissue using a suction device, sending optical signals along optical fibers through the suction device; directing the signals from the optical fibers onto the tissue using a beveled surface; receiving optical signals from the tissue in optical fibers via the beveled reflective surface; measuring the received optical signals in a spectrometer or detector; and releasing, resecting or ablating the tissue through the suction device.

A NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY (NPWT) SYSTEM

The present disclosure generally relates to a negative wound therapy (NPWT) system (100) comprising a mobile negative pressure device (101), a tubing assembly (105) and a non-absorbent or an absorbent dressing (104).

FLUID REMOVAL DEVICE

The invention comprises a urine removal devices that enable urine discharged from a male patient's penis to be contained within a flexible pouch and drawn out of the pouch and away from the genital region of the patient through a drain tube. The pouch comprises a first fluid compartment, a second fluid compartment and a fluid transmission passageway connecting the first fluid compartment and the second fluid compartment—wherein the fluid transmission passageway comprises a thin-film unidirectional fluid flow valve configured to enable for fluid flow from the first fluid compartment to the second fluid compartment, and to prevent fluid flow from the second fluid compartment to the first fluid compartment. The pouch may have an aperture sized to permit a male patient's penis to enter the pouch within the first fluid compartment.

INTEGRATED SENSOR ENABLED WOUND MONITORING AND/OR THERAPY DRESSINGS AND SYSTEMS

A wound monitoring and/or therapy system can include a substantially stretchable substrate supporting a plurality of electronic components, including sensors, and a plurality of electronic connections that connect at least some of the electronic components. The electronic components can also include a circuit board supporting at least one controller configured to control at least some of the sensors, the circuit board configured to operate without failure when the substrate is flexed as a result of strain. A calibration track can be positioned on the substrate and connected to a monitoring circuit configured to measure a change in resistance of the calibration track indicative of resistance change of at least some of the plurality of electronic connections. The system can include a controller with a circuit board supporting a plurality of electrical components and an antenna configured to communicate with the substrate, the antenna at least partially enclosing the circuit board.

SYSTEM FOR TREATING EMBOLISM AND ASSOCIATED DEVICES AND METHODS

Systems and methods for the intravascular treatment of clot material within a blood vessel of a human patient are disclosed herein. A method in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, positioning a distal portion of a catheter proximate to the clot material within the blood vessel. The method can further include coupling a pressure source to the catheter via a tubing subsystem including a valve or other fluid control device and, while the valve is closed, activating the pressure source to charge a vacuum. The valve can then be opened to apply the vacuum to the catheter to thereby aspirate at least a portion of the clot material from the blood vessel and into the catheter.

Opening cover

A medical apparatus that includes an apparatus body that has a surface with an opening and a cover coupled to the apparatus body about an axis of rotation angled to the surface. The cover is operable to rotate about the axis of rotation to move between a first position wherein the cover closes the opening and a second position wherein the cover is moved to allow access to the opening.
