SMOKE COLLECTING TROCAR
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and method for reducing surgical smoke. An exemplary apparatus includes trocar comprising a tubular hollow body circumscribing a cavity extending through a longitudinal axis of the trocar with a gasket at a first end and an exit port at a second end, the tubular hollow body comprising a first wall circumscribing the cavity and a concentrically spaced apart second wall. The apparatus further includes a first plate operable to maintain an electric charged disposed within the cavity on the first wall, and a second plate operable to maintain an electric charge disposed between the first wall and the spaced apart second wall.
WEARABLE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MODIFICATION OF FLUID ENVIRONMENT OF AN EAR
System and method for modification of fluid environment of an ear. In one embodiment, the system includes an earpiece mountable within an ear canal. The earpiece includes a fluid delivery path for fluid to be delivered to the ear and a fluid removal path for fluid to be removed from the ear. The system also includes an electronics housing. The electronics housing may be directly mounted on the earpiece or positioned outside the ear. The system further includes an electrochemical gas generating device positioned within the electronics housing. In use, oxygen or the like is generated by the electrochemical gas generating device and is conveyed through the fluid delivery path of the earpiece, emerging from the earpiece distal end. The gas released from the earpiece causes fluid in the ear to be swept into the fluid removal path of the earpiece and eventually expelled to the outside of the ear.
LAVAGE FLUID DELIVERY DEVICE AND SYSTEMS
A system for applying a lavage fluid to a surface, the system having a body configured to house a lavage fluid and at least two interchangeable application members configured to be in fluid communication with the body, wherein the at least two interchangeable application members includes a first application member and a second application member, the first application member being configured to dispense the lavage fluid with a first fluid flow force and/or first fluid flow pattern, and the second application member being configured to dispense the lavage fluid with a second fluid flow force and/or second fluid flow pattern that is different from the first fluid flow force and/or fluid flow pattern, respectively.
Systems and methods for cleaning a minimally invasive instrument
An anatomical probe system includes an elongated flexible body including a channel defined by a wall, an operational component, a support member, an image obstruction detector, and a fluid director. The support member comprises a curved wall having a portion sized to fit within the channel and a frame shaped to retain the operational component. A frame wall is coupled to the curved wall such that the frame wall and the portion of the curved wall form an enclosed interior channel. The frame wall overlaps the portion of the curved wall in an axial direction such that a plane transverse to the axis intersects both the frame wall and the portion of the curved wall. The image obstruction detector is configured to detect an obstruction of the operational component and initiate a cleaning routine. The fluid director is configured to direct the fluid toward the operational component.
DISPENSER FOR SPRAYING POWDER AND POWDER SPRAYER INCLUDING SAME
The present invention provides a 2-way air flow type dispenser for spraying powder and a powder sprayer including the same. The present invention adopts a 2-way air flow manner in which an air flow causing the powder to be sprayed and an air flow causing the powder to be transferred from a container to a spraying nozzle are separately formed, thereby enabling the smooth spraying of the powder.
RELOCATION MODULE AND METHODS FOR SURGICAL EQUIPMENT
Module for housing electronic and electromechanical medical equipment including a portable digital camera and processing circuitry with machine vision and machine learning software for automatically documenting healthcare events and healthcare equipment operations in the electronic health record.
Delivery Device and Method for Intranasal Administration of Topical Therapeutic Agents
The present invention provides a delivery device for intranasal administration of topical therapeutic agents to a desired site within a nasal cavity. The delivery device, in some embodiments, comprises a housing defining an interior and adapted to contain a supply of at least one therapeutic agent. The delivery device further includes a flexible connector, which is in fluid communication with the supply in the housing. A distributor, which is also integrally formed with the connector, is also provided. The distributor includes a proximal end that is in fluid communication with a distal end of the connector, and is adapted to receive the supply of the at least one therapeutic agent delivered by way of a conduit. The distributor further includes a distal end defining an outlet configured to diffuse the therapeutic agent when delivered to the treatment site.
Needle assembly for pleural space insufflation and methods thereof
A needle assembly for pleural space insufflation is disclosed. The needle assembly has an outer shaft defining one or more pliable tissue receivers. The needle assembly also has a needle moveable within the outer shaft from a retracted position to an engaged position that does not extend past a distal end of the outer shaft. A method of pleural space insufflation is also disclosed. A parietal pleura is contacted with a distal end of an outer shaft that defines one or more pliable tissue receivers. The distal end of the outer shaft is pushed against the parietal pleura so that a portion of the parietal pleura enters the one or more pliable tissue receivers. A needle is advanced within the outer shaft so that the needle pierces the parietal pleura.
Transvaginal specimen extraction device
In laparoscopic surgery, small (5-12 mm diameter) incisions are made in an abdominal wall through which instruments dissect and remove specimens that may be several centimeters in diameter. Removal of a sample typically requires either enlarging these incisions or morcellating the sample to pass through sub-centimeter ports. A laparoscopic device permits extraction of the sample to be removed in a female using a vagina, which has sufficient elasticity to accommodate removal of large specimens. A posterior portion of the vagina communicates to an abdomen through a few tissue layers, and is distant from vital anatomic structures. Utilizing the vagina is optimal due to its ease of access to the abdomen and repair, minimal scarring and post-operative pain, and faster recovery following surgery. A deployable collection bag is housed in a sheath, which is deployed into the vagina or an abdominal cavity to extract a large (multiple-centimeter) specimen(s) through the vagina. An optional insufflation system and an inflatable balloon to maintain a pneumoperiotoneum may be used to reduce a number of laparoscopic ports required.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACCELERATED DISINTEGRATION OF BLOOD CLOT
Systems and methods for treating a blood clot include a catheter to be inserted into a patient. The catheter is used to deliver low stability microbubbles toward the blood clot in the patient. A thrombolytic agent is delivered toward the blood clot, and ultrasonic energy is applied to the microbubbles to vibrate the microbubbles.
