CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A catheter assembly includes a catheter; a catheter hub fixed to a proximal end portion of the catheter; a hollow needle having a needle tip and disengageably located in the catheter; a needle hub fixed to a proximal end portion of the needle; a guide wire slidably located in the needle, the guide wire being longer than the catheter and having a distal end that is protrudable from the needle tip; a guide wire hub configured to support the guide wire and move the guide wire with respect to the needle in association with movement of the guide wire hub; and a movement mechanism configured to retract the guide wire hub with respect to the needle hub such that the distal end of the guide wire is housed in the needle in association with forward movement of the catheter hub with respect to the needle hub.
DEVICE RETENTION MECHANISM AND METHOD
A device retention assembly includes a delivery system and a device retention mechanism retaining the delivery system. The device retention mechanism includes a tray, a base coupled to the tray, and retaining flanges pivotally coupled to the base. The delivery system is enclosed within an opening defined by the base and retaining flanges. A key locks the device retention mechanism in the closed position retaining the delivery system. The key must be removed to unlock the device retention mechanism to release the delivery system.
Catheter system
A catheter system includes an indwelling, hollow catheter having a tip inserted into a person's bladder. The tip has an opening through which urine from the bladder passes into the catheter. A flexible reservoir extends around the person's ankle and has walls bounding an interior compartment. A flexible, elongated tube has one end connected to the catheter and an opposite end connected to the reservoir. The tube is hollow for conducting urine in the catheter through the tube into the compartment of the reservoir. One of the walls of the reservoir is a bottom wall that engages and rests on a top of the person's foot in use to resist downward movement of the reservoir as the reservoir is filled with urine. A freely manipulated drain pipe is in fluid communication with the reservoir.
Secure Insertion Of An Insertion Device
An insertion system and a method for protecting an insertion device, for example, a needle, a catheter, a stent, etc., from infection and/or damage before, and/or during, and/or after insertion of the insertion device into an insertion site, are provided. The insertion system includes a hub or an introducer sheath with a hub, the insertion device, and an insertion device protection apparatus. The insertion device protection apparatus includes at least two elongate protective covers detachably engaged to each other and defining a channel extending through a length of the insertion device protection apparatus for enclosing the insertion device therewithin before, and/or during, and/or after inserting the insertion device into the insertion site. The elongate protective covers are progressively disengaged from each other from a proximal end and/or a distal end of the insertion device protection apparatus before, and/or during, and/or after insertion of the insertion device into the insertion site.
MICROCATHETER WITH DISTAL TIP PORTION AND PROXIMAL SOLUTION LUMEN
There is provided a microcatheter having a proximal solution lumen and a distal tip portion with a guidewire lumen. The microcatheter and methods of use thereof allows for introduction of solution into a vessel while manipulating the guidewire and/or the microcatheter itself. The solution may be a contrast solution, for viewing of the vessel, a therapeutic or diagnostic solution, or any other type of solution.
Flexible endoluminal device
The present disclosure describes endoluminal devices, such as stents and stent grafts capable of being bent smoothly, with various benefits resulting therefrom.
MEDICAL DEVICE WITH DISTAL TORQUE CONTROL
A catheter with a distal end that rotates through the conversion of linear motion to rotational motion, thus the distal end may be rotated without longitudinally advancing or retracting the distal end. The catheter includes a tube with a single helix or a dual chirality helix cut into the tube, a distal end segment, means for linear displacement of the helix, and means for coupling the junction point of the helix to the distal segment.
CATHETER TUBE
Catheter tube capable of irradiating laser optimized in light radiation efficiency and distribution, used in photosensitization reaction treatment is provided by simple process. Catheter tubes provided to medical device inserted into a living body to irradiate target site for treatment or examination with a light to treat or examine the site. The tubes being formed of material optically having transparency, provided with insertion hole for light diffusing body, and one or more other holes different from the insertion hole, in a manner extending in longitudinal direction of catheter tubes. Inside the other holes, space is present adjacent to inner wall thereof, the inner wall forming optical interface between the material and gas phase or liquid phase in the space, which are different from each other in refractive index, to conjointly form reflection surface for adjusting radiation distribution of light emitted by light diffusing body.

EXPANDABLE SHEATH AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
The expandable sheath and methods of use disclosed herein are used to deliver a prosthetic device through a patient's vasculature. The sheath is constructed to be expandable in the circumferential direction, while maintaining sufficient stiffness in the longitudinal direction to withstand pushing and resist kinking The sheath includes a plurality of curved arms extending outwardly from a longitudinally extending spine. The curved arms move away from the longitudinal axis of the sheath when pushed radially outwardly by a passing prosthetic device, and move back toward the longitudinal axis once the prosthetic device has passed.
