EAR DROP APPLICATOR
20230218873 · 2023-07-13 ·

An ear drop applicator for the application of ear drops, which comprises a tray (3) for receiving a bottle of ear drops placed therein wherein the tray (3) comprises a spout (5) for inserting into an ear canal and through which the ear drops can pass from the bottle into the ear canal.

SWAB DELIVERY SYSTEM

Described herein is a drug product delivery device and method of delivering a drug on a swab. The drug product delivery device may include an applicator platform housed within a rigid housing. The applicator platform may be in the form of a plunger. One or more fluidic channels carry fluid from a storage chamber to an applicator. A frangible seal is attached to the plunger between the storage chamber and the applicator. The frangible seal blocks the fluid from moving from the storage chamber into one or more fluidic channels. Actuation of the plunger causes the frangible seal to be ruptured, which causes the fluid to exit the fluid storage chamber and enter into the one or more fluidic channels. The one or more fluidic channels carry the fluid to the applicator.

Fluid therapy method

A fluid therapy method for an ADHF patient includes setting a urine output rate desired threshold, setting one or more desired negative net gain rates, and optionally setting a total fluid loss goal. The urine output of the patient is monitored and fluid is automatically administered to the patient at increasing rates to equal to or approximately match the patient's increasing urine output rates until the patient's urine output rate reaches the set urine output rate desired threshold. Thereafter, fluid is administered to the patient at rates to achieve the set desired negative net gain rate until the fluid loss goal is reached. Thereafter, until the end of therapy, fluid is administered to the patient at rates equal to or approximately equal to the monitored urine output rates.

Earplug assembly for iontophoresis system

An apparatus includes a rigid body, a flexible sealing element, a nozzle assembly, and an electrode. The rigid body defines a channel, a reservoir, and a vent path. The reservoir is in fluid communication with the channel. The vent path is in fluid communication with the reservoir. The reservoir is configured to provide spacing between the channel and the vent path. The sealing element is positioned distal to the rigid body. The nozzle assembly includes a nozzle head and a post. The post extends distally through the channel of the rigid body. The nozzle head projects distally from a distal end of the post. The electrode is disposed within the channel of the rigid body. The reservoir extends laterally from a longitudinal axis defined by the electrode.

In alternative embodiments, the invention provides compositions, e.g., formulations, used for gastric, gastrointestinal and/or colonic treatments or lavage, e.g., orthostatic lavage, e.g., for inducing the purgation (e.g., cleansing) of a gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including a colon; and methods for making and using them. In alternative embodiments, compositions and methods of the invention are used for the stabilization, amelioration, treatment and/or prevention of constipation, for the treatment of abdominal pain, particularly non-specific abdominal pain, and diarrhea, including diarrhea caused by a drug side effect, a psychological condition, a disease or a condition such as Crohn's Disease, a poison, a toxin or an infection, e.g., a toxin-mediated travelers diarrhea, or C. difficile or the pseudo-membranous colitis associated with this infection. In alternative embodiments, the invention provides pharmaceuticals and products (articles) of manufacture for delivering these compositions and formulations to an individual, e.g., a human or an animal. The invention also provides devices for delivering a fecal material to a patient.

Systems and methods for nasal irrigation

Systems and methods for nasal irrigation are provided in which a nasal irrigation device includes a source of saline solution, an effluent receptacle, a nasal interface, a vacuum source, a fluid passageway to communicate the source of saline solution with the effluent receptacle through the nasal interface and a nasal cavity of a user, and a switch and valve assembly for selectively controlling the vacuum source and flow of the saline solution through the fluid passageway. The source of saline solution is disposed relative to the device to provide gravitational inducement of the saline solution to the nasal interface in engagement to the device user's nostrils. A combination of the gravitational inducement and a relative vacuum from the effluent receptacle generates a fluid flow for irrigating, cleansing and massaging the nasal cavity and ostia of the user. The entire device is assembled as a hand-held device for convenient lifting and disposal against the user's nostrils.
