Infusion and blood collection devices and methods
An apparatus for the uninterrupted administration of fluid to an animal body during clean blood collections is disclosed. Embodiments include an intravenous device defining a first fluid channel, wherein the first fluid channel is configured to selectively transport IV fluid to an animal body and draw a bodily fluid from the body, and a connection member configured to connect to a catheter to the first fluid channel and defining a concave distal end. A second fluid channel continuously provides IV fluid to a lumen coaxially located within the catheter. The concave surface is shaped to create a fluid flow pattern that quickly and completely removes residual bodily fluid remaining at the concave distal end. Embodiments include a concave surface defining an asymmetric funnel shape, a vertex of which is centered on the first fluid channel.
CONTROLLED FLOW DRUG DELIVERY IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
Embodiments herein relate to an implantable device comprising a casing, a semi-permeable membrane plug at or near a first end of the casing, a piston, beads, and an opening for release of the beads from the implantable device within a body of a human or an animal; wherein the implantable device is configured to be implanted within the body of the human or the animal during delivery of the beads into the body of the human or the animal; wherein the beads comprise a core and a shell with the core being enclosed by the shell and the beads contain a drug; and wherein the implantable device is configured to produce a desired flow rate of elution of the drug from the implantable device when the implantable device is implanted within the body of the human or the animal.
CONTAINER FOR AN INHALER
A container for holding, dispensing and/or storing a preferably liquid medicament preparation is proposed, which comprises an inner space for the medicament preparation and an at least partially multi-layered wall structure defining the inner space, the wall structure comprising a first layer with a first through-opening of less than 40 μm. Alternatively or additionally, the wall structure comprises a second and third layer, a second through-opening being provided in the second layer and the third layer covering or closing off the wall structure.
DEVICE FOR ADMINISTERING MEDICINAL PRODUCTS
An injection device includes a container receiving receptacle configured for receiving a container for containing a medicinal product to be administered; a dispensing mechanism for causing the product in the container to be injected; and a RFID system associated with the container receiving receptacle capable of communicating bidirectionally with a RFID tag attached to the container and enabling the administration of the product only under given conditions. The RFID tag can be therefore read and written by the RFID system. The RFID system further includes an antenna arranged at least partially covering the RFID tag. The dispensing mechanism is triggered by a contact sensor when the device is pressed onto the animal's skin. The needle-free injection device is capable of communicating with external devices (PC, laptops, tablets, smartphones and the like).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FOWL VACCINATION
A method, apparatus and system for delivery of live or attenuated viral and bacterial vaccines to fowl are described.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMFORTING AN ANIMAL
An animal comfort accessory for use with an animal enclosure includes a cover configured to fit over the animal's enclosure to decrease noise and light for the animal in the enclosure. A scent blower moves air past a scent collector and delivers a soothing sent to the animal inside the enclosure. The scent blower and cover are contained in a pouch for convenient storage and travel. Additional accessories such as a speaker, camera, and video display may also be stored in the pouch and used with the animal to provide a comforting space for the animal.
Apparatus and method for inhibiting melatonin synthesis in a horse
An apparatus for inhibiting melatonin synthesis in a horse comprises a blinker having an internal surface of which at least a part is diffusing. A source of light is positioned for direction into the horse's eye by the diffusing-surface. The light source and diffusing surface are configured such that the light directed into the horse's eye is blue.
Inhaler
An inhaler, preferably for insertion into a nostril, in particular a horse's nostril, with a pressure generator, which has a tensioning device for the drive, and with a tensioning mechanism for tensioning the tensioning device, whereby the tensioning mechanism has a lever gear for tensioning the tensioning device.
INJECTION DEVICE AND COMPONENTS THEREOF
Disclosed are an injection device and a method of using the same. The injection device includes an injection drive assembly including a pneumatic piston chamber, dose chamber, pneumatic piston slidably positioned in the pneumatic piston chamber and an injectate piston slidably positioned in the dose chamber. The injection drive assembly is configured so that any energy resulting from an application of force to the injection drive assembly is instantaneously available for the initiation of injection. In another aspect, the injection device includes separate respective resilient members for each of the pistons that are configured to position each piston in their respective pre-injection positions. In still another aspect, the injection device includes a valve assembly configured to provide pressurized fluid to the pneumatic piston chamber. The rate of the movement of the valve between open and closed positions is independent of control by a user of the injection device.
ADJUSTABLE RATE DRUG DELIVERY IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
