The implantable system comprises: at least one implantable antenna configured to receive the first transmission signal from the first external device; an implantable receiver; at least one implantable functional element configured to interface with the patient; an implantable controller; an implantable energy storage assembly; and an implantable housing surrounding at least the implantable controller and the implantable receiver. Methods for identifying crosses for use in plant breeding

Exemplary methods for use in identifying crosses for use in plant breeding are disclosed. One exemplary method includes selecting a subgroup of potential crosses, based on thresholds associated with population prediction scores for the set of potential crosses. The exemplary method further includes selecting multiple target crosses from the subgroup of potential crosses based on a genetic relatedness of the parents in the subgroup of potential crosses, filtering the target crosses based on a rule (or rules) defining a threshold (or thresholds) for at least one characteristic and/or trait, selecting ones of the filtered target crosses based on risk associated with the selected one of the filtered target crosses, and directing the selected ones of the filtered target crosses into a breeding pipeline, thereby providing crosses to the breeding pipeline based, at least in part, on commercial success of parents included in the selected ones of the filtered crosses.

System, method, and apparatus for applying transcutaneous electrical stimulation

A system, method, and apparatus for treating a medical condition by applying transcutaneous electrical stimulation to a target peripheral nerve of a subject. Electrical stimulation is applied to the peripheral nerve via a stimulation electrode pattern under closed-loop control in which EMG responses are monitored and used to adjust stimulation parameters. In response to detecting an unacceptable recording, electrical stimulation is applied to the peripheral nerve under open-loop control.

Enhanced wireless communication and power transfer between external and implanted devices

Systems, devices, and methods are discussed herein for wirelessly transmitting power and/or data to an implanted device, such as an implanted electrostimulator device. In an example, the subject matter includes a layered transmitter device with multiple conductive planes and excitation features. The transmitter device can be tuned to identify and apply device parameters for efficient wireless communication with a deeply implanted device. The transmitter is generally configured for midfield powering applications by providing signals that give rise to propagating signals inside of body tissue.

Burr cap-mounted electrodes

A system provides a burr hole cap assembly configured to secure a position of a lead implanted through a burr hole in a cranium of a patient. One or more electrodes are coupled to one or more components of the burr hole cap assembly. The one or more electrode is disposed within the burr hole cap assembly for sensing signals within a brain of the patient or stimulating a portion of the brain of the patient.

Regulatory device and associated method

A peripheral device for regulating neural correlates of arousal and emotion regulation to be worn or held against the body is disclosed. The device can be triggered by either physiological signs or manual intervention and produces cutaneous signals such as vibration or electricity using novel combinations of physiologically reactive frequencies without effort on the part of the user. One embodiment includes combining sensors that measure changes in physiological signals of stress such as speech rate and pitch, galvanic skin response, or heart rate variability, and, using a machine learning algorithm on personalized data, can determine whether these changes are likely to benefit from regulation. If they are outside an idiosyncratic predetermined range, the device produces stimulation and the person will feel regulated if they are touching/wearing the device, or can choose to use the device if it is not currently being touched or worn.
