The present invention relates to compositions forming a low viscosity mixture of: a) 20-50 wt. % of at least one diacyl glycerol; b) 20-54 wt. % of at least one phosphatidyl choline (PC); c) 5-15 wt. % of at least one biocompatible, organic mono-alcoholic solvent; d) 1 to 20 wt. % polar solvent e) 5 to 150 mg/ml of at least one peptide somatostatin receptor agonist comprising pasireotide; f) optionally at least one antioxidant; wherein the ratio of components a:b is in the range 40:60 to 54:46; wherein the pre-formulation forms, or is capable of forming, at least one liquid crystalline phase structure upon contact with excess aqueous fluid. The invention further relates to methods of treatment comprising administration of such compositions, and to pre-filled administration devices and kits containing the formulations.
Coiled coil immunoglobulin fusion proteins and compositions thereof
Disclosed herein are immunoglobulin fusion proteins comprising a first antibody region, a first therapeutic agent, and a first connecting peptide; wherein the first therapeutic agent is attached to the first antibody region by the connecting peptide; and wherein the connecting peptide does not comprise a region having beta strand secondary structure. The connecting peptide may comprise an extender peptide. The extender peptide may have an alpha helical secondary structure. The connecting peptide may comprise a linker peptide. The linker peptide may not comprise any secondary structure. Also disclosed herein are compositions comprising the immunoglobulin fusion proteins and methods for using the immunoglobulin fusion proteins for the treatment or prevention of a disease or condition in a subject.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a bird's nest extract and the various extracts obtained from said method. In an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for preparing a bird's nest extract, the extract comprising at least one molecule obtained from edible bird's nest (EBN), the method comprising the steps of: (a) washing raw EBN; (b) filtering the washed EBN; (c) extracting the molecule from the EBN; and (d) isolating the molecule.

In particular the invention provides millisecond-timescale temporal control of cation channels using moderate light intensities in cells, cell lines, transgenic animals, and humans. An objective of the present invention is to provide a polypeptide containing an Fc region having maintained or decreased binding activities towards both allotypes of FcγRIIa, types H and R, and having enhanced FcγRIIb-binding activity in comparison with a parent polypeptide; a pharmaceutical composition containing the polypeptide; an agent for treating or preventing immunological inflammatory diseases that includes the pharmaceutical composition; a production method thereof; and a method for maintaining or decreasing binding activities towards both allotypes of FcγRIIa and enhancing the FcγRIIb-binding activity. Specifically, it is found that a polypeptide containing an antibody Fc region that has an alteration of substituting Pro at position 238 (EU numbering) with Asp or Leu at position 328 (EU numbering) with Glu enhances FcγRIIb-binding activity, and maintains or decreases binding activities towards both allotypes of FcγRIIa, types H and R. It is also found that a polypeptide containing an antibody Fc region that contains an alteration of substituting Pro at position 238 (EU numbering) with Asp and several other alterations, enhances FcγRIIb-binding activity, and maintains or decreases binding activities towards both allotypes of FcγRIIa, types H and R.

Method for modulating microRNA content in living beings and the use thereof
The present invention relates to a method for modulating miRNA content in living beings and the use thereof, whereof the miRNAs are delivered initiatively and selectively by microparticles/MVs/exosomes to the circulatory system and target cells/tissues to perform various functions. The invention provides a novel combination of molecules that mediates the inter-cellular communication: the miRNAs secreted by cells through cellular MVs. Meanwhile, the present invention also provides a method for preparing cellular MVs entrapping certain miRNAs, and, according to the regulation and modification of gene expression in cells and tissues with the miRNA-entrapping cellular MVs, provides a novel method for modulating miRNA content in living beings, which is effective and adoptable to all cell types.
