The present invention relates to a composition comprising particles of a polymer that is surface-stabilized with a stabilizer, the polymer of the particles being a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer; the stabilizer being an isobornyl (meth)acrylate polymer chosen from isobornyl (meth)acrylate homopolymer and statistical copolymers of isobornyl (meth)acrylate and of C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate present in an isobornyl (meth)acrylate/C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl (meth)acrylate weight ratio of greater than 4, at least one hydrocarbon-based oil and at least one mineral thickener chosen from optionally modified clays and optionally modified silicas, or mixtures thereof. The invention also relates to a process for making up and/or caring for keratin materials, in which said composition is applied.

The present invention relates to a gel composition that includes water; at least one C2-C5 alcohol; at least one copolymer formed from sulfonic acid acrylic monomer; at least one acrylic thickening polymer free of sulfonated monomers; and a particulate portion comprising a majority fraction of substantially spherical particulates.

The present invention provides a copolymer used as oily gelling agent with which a stable oily gelled composition can be prepared.

Disclosed is a method of firming skin or reducing the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles comprising topically applying, to skin in need thereof, a composition comprising palmitoyl tetrapeptide 7 and a dermatologically acceptable vehicle comprising water, glycerin, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, and a chelating agent, wherein topical application of the composition to the skin firms the skin or reduces the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles, and wherein the composition is not a sunless tanning composition.
