The present invention describes specific biocidally effective preservative mixtures and aqueous polymer solutions stabilized with these preservative mixtures and their use in cosmetic preparations, such as skin care and hair care compositions, and hairstyling products and in products for the home care sector.
Non-Petrochemically Derived Cationic Emulsifiers and Related Compositions and Methods
The invention includes a neutralized amino acid ester emulsifier, emulsions and compositions containing the emulsifier, and related methods. The emulsifier is a neutralized amino acid ester that is a reaction product of a neutral amino acid with a fatty alcohol and is represented by formula (I):

wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl group that has 6 to 24 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 is an alkyl group that has 6 to 36 carbon atoms; and the amine group of the amino acid is neutralized with an acid. The emulsifier is cationic. Also included are stable emulsions and compositions, preferably personal care compositions, that include the emulsifier and which may have pH levels of 5.5 or greater. Encompassed within the scope of the invention are methods of increasing the substantivity of a composition to a negatively charged substrate using the emulsifier, methods of emulsifying and methods of preparing a personal care composition using the emulsifier.

POLYMER OIL BLEND
A polymer oil blend is provided comprising (a) a cosmetically acceptable long chain hydrophobic ester oil, wherein the cosmetically acceptable long chain hydrophobic ester oil comprises aliphatic C.sub.>12-24 alkyl triglycerides; (b) a thickening polymer powder, wherein the thickening polymer powder comprises: (i) 96 to 99.9 wt %, based on weight of the thickening polymer powder, of structural units of C.sub.4-8 alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer; (ii) 0.1 to 2 wt %, based on weight of the thickening polymer powder, of structural units of (meth)acrylic acid monomer; (iii) 0 to 2 wt %, based on weight of the thickening polymer powder, of structural units of multi-ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer; and (c) a silica powder; and wherein the weight ratio of silica powder/thickening polymer powder is ≥0.25. Also provided are personal care compositions containing same and methods of using same.
POLYMER OIL BLEND
A polymer oil blend is provided comprising (a) a cosmetically acceptable long chain hydrophobic ester oil, wherein the cosmetically acceptable long chain hydrophobic ester oil comprises aliphatic C.sub.>12-24 alkyl triglycerides; (b) a thickening polymer powder, wherein the thickening polymer powder comprises: (i) 96 to 99.9 wt %, based on weight of the thickening polymer powder, of structural units of C.sub.4-8 alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer; (ii) 0.1 to 2 wt %, based on weight of the thickening polymer powder, of structural units of (meth)acrylic acid monomer; (iii) 0 to 2 wt %, based on weight of the thickening polymer powder, of structural units of multi-ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer; and (c) a silica powder; and wherein the weight ratio of silica powder/thickening polymer powder is ≥0.25. Also provided are personal care compositions containing same and methods of using same.
Hair color toning compositions, methods of use, and kits
The present disclosure relates to hair color toning compositions comprising (a) one or more vegetable oils: (b) one or more solid fatty alcohols; (c) one or more nonionic surfactants; (d) one or more non-silicone shine enhancers; (e) one or more amidoamines; (f) one or more acids; (g) one or more direct dyes; and (g) water. Kits comprising the hair color toning compositions and methods of treating hair using the hair color toning compositions are also disclosed.
COMPOSITION FOR TREATING HAIR OR FIBERS, COMPRISING ALKYL KETENE COMPOUND
The present invention relates to composition for hair or fiber comprising an alkyl ketene compound.
The composition according to the present invention includes an alkyl ketene compound capable of covalently bonding with a protein residue on a surface of hair or fibers, and the alkyl ketene compound can form a covalent bond with the hair or fiber to provide beneficial effects, such as long-lasting conditioning.
Surfactant composition
A surfactant composition comprising a sugar-based surfactant comprising a C8-C16 alkyl glucoside, a C8-C16 alkyl polyglucoside, or a combination of a C8-C16 alkyl glucoside and a C8-C16 alkyl polyglucoside; a C8-C18 amphodiacetate; a C8-C16 acyl sarcosinate, a C8-C16 acyl glutamate, a C8-C16 acyl glycinate, or a combination thereof; and optionally a C8-C14 acyl lactylate, wherein the composition is free of sulfated anionic surfactants.
