Emergency escape tunnel
The object of the invention is an emergency escape tunnel in a multi-storey building, especially in a building with a centrally situated staircase and useable rooms surrounding it, used to evacuate people in case of a fire hazard. The emergency escape tunnel according to the invention is equipped with a load-bearing skeleton (6) with an outline similar in shape to an upturned letter U, its surface wall (7) and side walls (8) being covered with layers of a fire-resistant material. The tunnel has a self-activating drive system (13, 32, 36) and is horizontally shiftable in the space (14) between the staircase (1) and the external wall (2) of the building. In the resting position, the tunnel is situated within the staircase and in the operating position the outlet section (15) of the tunnel is situated within the exit door (16) of the building whereas its exit opening (17)| is situated beyond the building. To make it possible to use the tunnel in relatively vast spaces of the building, it consists of two or three telescopically overlapping segments (3, 3a, 4), the ends of which are mutually interlocked with their cover flanges (5).
Multi function hand tool in a unitary device
A survival rescue multi-tool device is provided in a single planer body constructed and arranged to have incorporated therewith multiple hand tool configurations and an overall curved ergonomic formation.
Shear blade and cutting device
A shear blade is for a portable hydraulic cutting device having a blade body. The blade body has assembly and cutting regions, with a cutting edge in the cutting region. A contact surface is on one side of the cutting edge for an additional shear blade. An outer surface on the other side of the cutting edge acts on the object to be cut. A first surface portion of the outer surface extends away from the cutting edge along an orthogonal, which meets the contact surface at the cutting edge, or at an acute angle relative to the orthogonal. A second surface portion connects to the first surface portion at an acute angle to the orthogonal. A third surface portion connects to the second surface portion at an acute angle to the orthogonal. Angle is smaller than angle , which is smaller than angle .
Fireman positioning system
A fireman positioning system includes: a first radio wave emitting device and a second radio wave emitting device, spaced with a predetermined distance and utilized for correspondingly emitting a first frequency modulated signal and a second frequency modulated signal; and a position receiving device, carried or worn by a fireman, and utilized for receiving the first frequency modulating signal and the second frequency modulating signal, and can demodulate the first frequency modulated signal via a first carrier signal so as to obtain a first output signal, and demodulate the second frequency modulated signal via a second carrier signal so as to obtain a second output signal, wherein a phase difference is formed between the first output signal and the second output signal, and the position receiving device can determine a direction angle of the fireman relative to the two radio wave emitting devices via the phase difference.
Facilitating a search of individuals in a building during an emergency event
A computer-implemented method includes: determining, by a computing device, a location of an individual in a building relative to the location of an exit of the building; determining, by the computing device, the location of obstacles or hazards within the building; determining, by the computing device, a path from the individual to the exit based on determining the location of the individual relative to the exit and the location of the obstacles or hazards; generating, by the computing device, signaling instructions based on the path; and outputting, by the computing device, the signaling instructions to one or more signaling devices, wherein the outputting the signaling instructions control operations of the one or more signaling devices to guide the individual to the exit based on the path.
Multipurpose vehicular emergency tool
A multipurpose vehicular emergency tool has a power source and a plurality of electrical outputs sufficient to act as a jump-starter for a vehicle or to charge mobile electronic devices, in addition to powering a light source to act as a flashlight. A plurality of emergency tools are provided, including a seatbelt cutter and a window breaker, in order to facilitate one's safety and survival in an emergency vehicular situation. Additional features include an emergency flasher light, a plurality of reflective bands, a compass, an emergency alarm, and a thermometer.
Multi-purpose handheld tool
A multi-purpose handheld tool including a handle, a hatchet head portion, a saw blade and a saw blade control mechanism. The handle has a first end and a second end. The handle has a slot formed therein. The hatchet head portion is operatively coupled to the first end of the handle. The saw blade is pivotally coupled to the handle. The saw blade control mechanism pivots the saw blade between a storage configuration and a use configuration. The saw blade control mechanism includes a saw control handle and a saw control hub. The saw control handle has a gripping extension extending therefrom. The gripping extension indicates a direction of the saw blade with respect to the handle. The saw control hub engages the saw blade.
Seatbelt mounted combination cutter and glass break tool
A combination seat belt restraint system cutter and glass break tool mounted onto and around the seat belt of an automotive vehicle at a predetermined position for use in cutting the web of the seat belt in the event of a seat belt release latch jam or inoperability resulting in the severing of the seat belt at said position resulting in the tool being freed for use in breaking the glass of a window of the vehicle. The combination tool also being maintained in a fixed position adjacent the safety belt extension/retraction aperture by a strap.
Assist grip handle
Provided is an assist grip handle storing an escape hammer. The handle is to be attached to an interior space of a vehicle, and includes a bar-shaped grip portion; a curved portion continuous with at least one end of the grip portion; and an attachment portion continuous with the curved portion and attached to an interior member of the vehicle. Since provided inside the grip portion is a storage portion continuous with an opening section formed at the curved portion side, and an escape hammer is stored in the storage portion, the hammer can be stored in the handle in a compact manner. Since there are provided a biasing member biasing the hammer toward the opening section side; a regulation portion for regulating the hammer; and a push button for releasing the restriction by the regulation portion, the hammer can be easily installed in and removed from the handle.
