System and method for indoor route navigation
A method, a system, and a computer program product may be provided for generating indoor emergency route plan for an infrastructure. The method includes obtaining indoor map data of the infrastructure, where the indoor map data comprises one or more first exit routes to one or more exits in the infrastructure. The method further includes obtaining first location data associated with an indoor emergency event. The method further includes generating one or more second exit routes to the one or more exits, based on the first location data and the one or more first exit routes. The method further includes providing the one or more second exit routes to one or more subjects.
System for self-escape from a safety harness having a plurality of mounted web cutters and glass break tools
A system for self-extrication from a safety harness by the wearer, or during rescue of the wearer, in the event of an emergency including one or more combination cutter and glass break tools mounted onto and around selected portions of the safety harness at predetermined positions for use in cutting the webbing straps of the safety harness in the event of the inoperability of any safety harness release resulting in the severing of the harness at such a predetermined position and further resulting in the combination tool being freed for use in breaking glass out of a window of a vehicle.
TRAVEL AND ORIENTATION MONITOR APPARATUS FOR FIREFIGHTERS AND RESCUE PERSONNEL
An apparatus carried by an individual for aiding in directing the individual to a location of a starting point for a path of travel by the individual includes a sensor for determining the individual's initial orientation at the starting point and subsequent changes of orientations during the travel; a processor coupled to the sensor for assigning one of four orthogonal directions to each of the orientations as experienced by the individual; a memory coupled to the processor for saving at least the orthogonal orientation of the initial orientation and the last experienced orientation; and a display for presenting at least the last experienced orientation to permit the individual to subsequently reorient himself in the direct of the original orientation. The apparatus has particular utility for firefighters to assist in orienting themselves with respect to an initial point of reference (POR) when inside a active firefighting location.
Demolition Ram For Glazing
A demolition ram, for demolishing glazing, comprises a pusher and a handle connected at its distal end to the pusher. The pusher comprises a support plate, a rubber plating on the distal surface of the support plate, and a reinforcing flange and a boss on the proximal surface of the support plate. At least one handling aperture is through the pusher. The handle has a plate at its distal end. Fasteners removably connect the plate to the boss. A handle extension can be connected to the handle. The handle at its proximal end and the handle extension each comprises a generally textured surface. The demolishing comprises pushing a subpane out of the glazing with the demolition ram by exerting a force with the handle onto the subpane through the pusher. The subpane is then allowed to fall due to its weight, and is caught with a receptacle comprising a mat.
Vehicle window-breaking apparatus
An apparatus includes a door frame, a carriage movable along a path relative to the door frame, a window, a bolt fixing the window to the carriage, a housing fixed to the window by the bolt, a striker mounted in the housing, and a pyrotechnic charge positioned to drive the striker into the window.
HYDRAULIC UNIT FOR HYDRAULIC RESCUE TOOLS, AND RESCUE TOOL EQUIPPED THEREWITH
A portable, battery-powered hydraulic unit for hydraulic rescue tools, in particular for spreading or cutting tools, as well as a rescue tool equipped therewith, are disclosed. The hydraulic unit includes at least one hydraulic pump, a hydraulic tank, a compensation device for hydraulic fluid, a manually operated hydraulic control valve, an electromechanical interface for on-demand coupling and decoupling of at least one battery pack, a mechanical-hydraulic interface for connecting a hydraulic tool, and an electric motor operable by the electrical energy of the battery pack for driving the hydraulic pump. The electric motor is formed by a disc-shaped motor whose axial length extending in parallel to the longitudinal axis of its output shaft is shorter than its outer diameter.
FORCIBLE ENTRY TOOL
A forcible entry tool includes at least a cutter and a spreader. The forcible entry tool further includes a first tool portion having a first cutter part and a first spreader part. The forcible entry tool further includes a second tool portion having a second cutter part and a second spreader part. The first tool portion and the second tool portion are rotatable relative to one another to apply force to either or both of the cutter and the spreader.
WINDOW BREAKING DEVICE
A window breaking device having a generally orb shape with a plurality of points extending out from the orb. The window breaking device is configured to be a projectile, thrown at the window to break the window. No special tool or special strength or force is needed to throw the device to break the window. One particular device has an orb-like body having a plurality of point structures with an overall diameter of 0.5 inch to 2 inch, a weight of 0.5 ounce to 2 ounces, a density of point structures of at least 10 points per square inch, with each point structure having a height of at least 0.1 inch.
