FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM TOOL FOR CONSTRAINT COMPLIANT PLACEMENT OF FIRE EQUIPMENT
A method of designing a fire detection system comprising: determining a location of at least one of fire detection device, a fire suppression device, and a fire escape device within a building; determining a device location correctness for the location of at least one of the fire detection device, the fire suppression device, and the fire escape device within a building; and activating an alert in response to the device location correctness for at least one of the location of at least one of the fire detection device, the fire suppression device, and the fire escape device within a building.
FIRE EVACUATION ROOM
The present invention relates to a fire evacuation room that provides a space installed indoors in a high-rise building such as an apartment block so as to provide a person who is unable to escape outside with a space in which to safely take refuge. The present invention can be installed indoors in an apartment or in a basement of a building as desired so as to enable a person unable to evacuate outside the building to safely evacuate, wherein a predetermined pressure differential can be constantly produced by suitably controlling the amount of air entering the evacuation space and the amount of air leaving the evacuation space, thereby compensating for the occurrence of leaks inside the evacuation space by damage due to falling objects and the like, and thus a fire evacuation room can be provided that completely mitigates a shortage of air for breathing. Furthermore, the present invention can provide a fire evacuation room that can improve the overall efficiency of the system for air provision by unified operation of the air supply for each fire evacuation room installed on each story of a building by connecting the various air intake pipes to pipes of the ventilation system of the building or to separate pipes of the blower equipment inside the building. In addition, an air forced discharge fan which is installed in the interior wall surface inside the evacuation space is linked in operation to opening and closing of a door so as to actuate the air forced discharge fan, so as to be able to forcibly discharge air inside the evacuation space when the door is open and consequently, the evacuation space is able to block the entry of smoke or heat to the inside from the outside. In addition, the present invention provides a fire evacuation room wherein a branch pipe is formed on one side of an air intake pipe through which air flows into the inside of the evacuation room main body, and a filter device capable of purifying toxic gas such as smoke, in addition to oxygen generator that generates oxygen, is installed on the branch pipe so as to block the entry of external toxic gas while simultaneously supplying air to the inside of the evacuation room main body for evacuees to breathe, or by operating an air storage tank by utilizing the frame space of the evacuation room main body, so as to implement a new system that supplies air into the inside of the evacuation room main body for evacuees to breathe, thereby completely eliminating such problems as toxic gas flowing inside the fire evacuation room and protecting the safety of evacuees to the maximum.
FOLDABLE BALCONY BALUSTRADE-COMBINED FIRE/DISASTER EVACUATION FACILITY
The present invention relates to a facility comprising: a fixed frame fixedly installed on an outer wall of a veranda or a balcony of a high-rise building; a foldable evacuation box which can be unfolded in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped having an open top side and has and evacuation door on a side thereof; a fall prevention and evacuation means which can be structurally changed to an emergency stairway for fire evacuation; an evacuation box locking means which allows the foldable evacuation box to be unfolded in a rectangular parallelepiped form; a locking means which holds and fixes the fall prevention and evacuation means to the fixed frame; and an entry prevention door which prevents an evacuee from entering inside a veranda or a balcony from the foldable evacuation box through the fixed frame.
Laser light striping apparatus
A laser light striping method and apparatus suitable for reading smoke and distance navigation during fire rescue. The laser light striping apparatus comprises at least a laser light emitting element and at least one optical element for creating at least one laser light plane. The method provides an optimized Gaussian distribution profile of power across a laser light plane to avail safe navigation by human in a turbid environment such as smoke/fire during fire rescue and limit blinding by light.

Portable fire safety enclosure system
The portable fire safety enclosure system comprises a backpack, a protective cover, an extinguisher, and a breathing apparatus. The backpack may be adapted to be worn by a user to protect the user while the user exits from a burning building. The protective cover may comprise a flame retardant umbrella coupled to a clear flame retardant curtain. The protective cover may be deployed from within the backpack to surround the user and to prevent contact with burning materials. The extinguisher may be activated to spray a fire-suppressing substance from a nozzle located on the top of the protective cover. The extinguisher may extinguish flames that prevent exit from the burning building. The breathing apparatus may be adapted to provide a breathable gas to the user.
EMERGENCY EGRESS TRAINING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system is provided for emergency egress training. The system includes a training building including a first story simulating a basement of a second building and a second story simulating a first story of the second building. The system further includes a platform defining an opening and including a base configured to mount the platform on a ground surface. The system also includes an egress well operatively connected to the platform at the opening such that a base of the egress well is positioned above the ground surface and wherein the egress well is further operatively connected to the first story of the training building. An emergency egress training method is also provided.
Optimising fire protection for an offshore platform
An offshore oil and gas platform has equipment and piping associated with an oil and gas installation. A method for optimising fire protection for the platform includes arranging the platform to have an evacuation time of at most 15 minutes or less using one or more evacuation route(s) via a gangway or bridge allowing personnel to escape to a vessel or to another platform, determining a maximum evacuation time for the platform, assessing the risk to personnel using the evacuation route(s) in accordance with the determined maximum evacuation time in the event of a fire, and providing passive fire protection to equipment and/or piping on the platform in order to prevent escalation of the fire that would create a risk to personnel on the evacuation route(s) during the determined evacuation time.
