An oxygen supply system providing an adequate oxygen supply mode in an aircraft. A preventive oxygen supply system includes an oxygen source, a preventive oxygen dispensing unit connectable to the oxygen source, a cabin altitude detection device, and a preventive oxygen control device provide at least the following modes: a pre-wear mode providing no oxygen of the oxygen source to the preventive oxygen dispensing unit but normal cabin air; a pre-oxygenation mode providing a predetermined rate of oxygen of the oxygen source to the preventive oxygen dispensing unit sufficient for generating a pre-oxygenation condition of the user; and a decompression mode providing high concentrated oxygen of the oxygen source to the preventive oxygen dispensing unit sufficient for ensuring a minimum oxygenation of the user. The preventive oxygen control device automatically switches to the decompression mode in case a predetermined cabin altitude threshold is detected by the cabin altitude detection device.

The filter mask with accessory belt combines a filter mask with powered exhaust fans and an accessory belt for carrying protective and/or medical equipment, as well as a power source for the exhaust fans. The filter mask includes a rigid mask body having opposed outer and inner faces and at least one exhaust vent formed therein. An inhalation port is formed through the mask body, and a filter covers the inhalation port. At least one exhaust fan is mounted on the inner face of the mask body adjacent the at least one exhaust vent. At least one head securement strap is attached to the mask body. The accessory belt includes at least one pocket. A power supply is received within the at least one pocket of the accessory belt. The power supply is in electrical communication with the at least one exhaust fan for providing power thereto.

An anti-germ breathing device is provided for a user, the device including a heating element housing an electric conduit; a one-way valve in communication with the heating element, the one-way valve having a first air filter and being structured and disposed for permitting entry of air from the atmosphere into the heating element when the user inhales through an inhale tube; a suction electric switch structured and disposed for connecting a battery with the electric conduit for heating the electric conduit when the user inhales; a cooling element housing a plurality of bulkheads; an air tube in fluid flow communication with each of the heating element and the cooling element; the plurality of bulkheads being sized and configured for evenly distributing air so that the air cools before it is inhaled by the user; and the inhale tube being in fluid flow communication with the cooling element such that the user inhales cooled

A respirator has one or more electrodes of e.g. conductive elastomer disposed on the surface of a face sealing member opposite to the surface which seals against the user's face. In use the integrity of the seal formed between the sealing member and the user's face is monitored by monitoring the electrical capacitance across that member between the electrode(s) and the user's face.

A humidifier assembly is configured to humidify a pressurized flow of breathable gas from a flow generator of a CPAP unit and includes a base configured to be attached to the flow generator, the base including a recess portion. A water receptacle is configured to be received within the recess portion of the base and includes a floor and a flange around an opening at the top of the water receptacle. A lid is hingedly attached to the base and is configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position. This lid includes a top wall, an outer depending wall, an inner depending wall in the form of a double wall, and an outlet pipe. A lid seal is attached to an underside of the top wall of the lid by way of a tongue and groove structure. A catch is located on the base and configured to lock the lid in the closed position.

Embodiments relate generally to methods and systems for detecting and indicating end-of-service-life in disposable filtration masks. Applicant has proposed incorporating end-of-service-life indicators comprising color changing chemicals into the mask. The indicating chemicals may be incorporated into the nonwoven fabric material of the mask, or may be attached to the nonwoven material of the mask, such as by dipping, spraying, or adhering. The color change of the indicating chemicals may indicate to a user that the use life of the mask has been depleted.

A combination face mask and air filter includes a face mask; an air filter including a centrifugal fan, a circuit board, a filter element, a power supply, a housing for enclosing the centrifugal fan, the circuit board, the filter element, and the power supply, a cover releasably secured to the housing, and a UV lamp; a tube having a first end attached to the face mask; and a strap having two ends attached to the housing. The centrifugal fan includes an inlet and an outlet. The UV lamp is disposed at the outlet of the centrifugal fan. A second end of the tube passes through the housing to communicate with the outlet of the centrifugal fan.

A combination face mask and air filter includes a face mask; an air filter including a centrifugal fan, a circuit board, a filter element, a power supply, a housing for enclosing the centrifugal fan, the circuit board, the filter element, and the power supply, a cover releasably secured to the housing, and a UV lamp; a tube having a first end attached to the face mask; and a strap having two ends attached to the housing. A cushion member (12, 12′, 12″) for a patient interface device (4) that includes a main body portion (34) including a plurality of chambers (48) and a self-sealing cap portion (36) coupled to the main body portion. The cap portion covers each of the chambers and forms a plurality of membrane members (52), with each membrane member being positioned over and sealing a respective one of the chambers. The cap portion is made of a self-sealing material such that that each of the membrane members is structured to self-seal responsive to having a needle inserted through and pulled out of the membrane member. Also, an apparatus and a method for selectively adjusting the internal pressure of the chambers of such a cushion.
