Medical garments and accessories with welded elasticized parts and methods of manufacture
A garment or accessory is provided having an elasticized portion, said elasticized portion being free of stitches or holes. The elasticized portion comprises a fabric portion of the accessory or garment to be elasticized; and a length of elastic element. The length of elastic element is applied to the fabric by a means selected from the group consisting of direct welding and indirect welding. A method is provided for elasticizing a fabric, said elasticized fabric being free of stitches or holes. The method involves providing a stack of fabric to be elasticized; stretching and positioning a length of elastic element against a first of the fabric in the stack; applying one or more ends of the elastic element to the fabric by a means selected from directly welding and indirectly welding; moving the first fabric to expose the next fabric in the stack to be elasticized; and repeating the steps for the next fabric.
PPE WITH ROTATING ASSEMBLY PROVIDING MULTIPLE FACE COVERS
A personal protective device (PPE) comprising a face cover assembly and a bodysuit configured to be worn by a human user. The device protects users against airborne aerosol particles containing viruses or other infectious agents while enabling improved flexibility relative to prior art designs. The device includes a helmet-like rotating face cover assembly that fits over the user's head and attaches to a collar on the biohazard bodysuit. This rotating face cover assembly has a plurality of different mask sides, each with differing geometries or other properties. The device enables a user to can rotate the cover and select a given mask side that best meets that user's needs. The different mask sides can accommodate different facial geometries, eyewear types, and use cases.
Portable fire safety enclosure system
The portable fire safety enclosure system comprises a backpack, a protective cover, an extinguisher, and a breathing apparatus. The backpack may be adapted to be worn by a user to protect the user while the user exits from a burning building. The protective cover may comprise a flame retardant umbrella coupled to a clear flame retardant curtain. The protective cover may be deployed from within the backpack to surround the user and to prevent contact with burning materials. The extinguisher may be activated to spray a fire-suppressing substance from a nozzle located on the top of the protective cover. The extinguisher may extinguish flames that prevent exit from the burning building. The breathing apparatus may be adapted to provide a breathable gas to the user.
SPACESUIT WITH LIQUID COOLING VENTILATION GARMENT, SOFT EXOSKELETON, AND BIOSENSORS
Disclosed herein is a spacesuit including a liquid cooling ventilation garment, a soft exoskeleton, at least one biometric sensor, and an electronic controller in electronic communication with the liquid cooling ventilation garment, the soft exoskeleton, and the at least one biometric sensor. The electronic controller is configured to operate the soft exoskeleton based on electromyography data of the at least one biometric sensor to produce a desired change in orientation of the soft exoskeleton and corresponding user. The electronic controller is further configured to operate the liquid cooling ventilation garment based on temperature data of the at least one biometric sensor to maintain a user temperature within a predetermined user temperature range. In certain embodiments, the liquid cooling ventilation garment is in thermal communication with the soft exoskeleton and used for thermal management thereof. Such configurations reduce the physical and cognitive loading of the astronaut.
FireCoat FEDS (Fullbody Emergency Descent System)
A full body emergency descent system (EDS) for incorporating into a firefighter's coat and pants set outside the interior heat protective barrier liner for said coat and pants to enable safe descent from elevated heights in an emergency. The EDS includes: a panel housing a section of continuous flame resistant rope wrapped vertically between a plurality of horizontally extending elastic loops. The panel also includes a pair of chest straps stored in the coat interior until needed and left and right leg straps with buckles that connect to matching buckles in the lower coat interior for forming a full body harness with both upper and lower harness portions.
Cowl neck barrier gown with attachments
This invention offers a fully protective cowl neck garment with various fasteners designed to attach additional protective gear, such as gloves and shoe coverings. Additionally, a temperature sensor shield is located on the hat and protective mask. This allows the clients or patients the ability to see and to monitor the temperature of their caregivers. The caregiver's temperature is visible on the hat, as well as the face mask. This makes the caregivers accountable to their clients or patients, as well as their colleagues and coworkers. This invention eliminates the worry of contact with infectious diseases or dangerous liquids, by utilizing elastic manual ties and hook-and-loop fasteners to ensure the garment is secured fully on a user's body. Overall, this invention ensures medical professionals, firemen, emergency medical personnel, government workers, and so forth, are protected fully from contagious and infectious diseases, liquids, and so forth.
Garment for preventing redistribution hypothermia
A thermal therapy garment that covers at least the lower extremities of a patient. The garment has an air impermeable outer layer and an air permeable inner layer. An inflatable air chamber is defined between the inner and outer layers. An inlet port connects to the chamber to allow inflation with conditioned air, which is exhausted through the inner layer over a selected region of the patient's lower body. A gown has a length sufficient to overlap a waist portion of the garment, The gown has an opening that coincides with the inlet port, thereby allowing a hose to pass through the gown and connect to the inlet port. In one embodiment, the gown has sleeves and/or a posterior portion that are heat reflective whereby the extremities are warmed to minimize the core to peripheral temperature gradient.

COATED WOVEN FABRIC FOR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
A coated woven fabric including an impregnated woven structure having a woven structure of plain or twill woven yarns of twisted aramid fibers, wherein the impregnated woven structure is impregnated with an organofluorine compound and the fibers have a linear density of 350 to 1000 dtex and a coating layer provided on at least one side of the impregnated woven structure.
Personal Protective Face Shield for Preventing Biohazardous, Infectious or Pathological Aerosol Exposure (COVID-19)
This novel face shield/window is designed to provide all the protective qualities of traditional OSHA approved PPE face shields. Most critically, however, it also facilitates the creation of a protective Dynamic Ingress Barrier to prevent fine particles and bioaerosols from crossing the face shield plane and transport them away from the often breached and problematic periphery of mask/respirator protective zones. Integral to this process, the novel design enhances a particle's flocculant properties by disrupting the structural integrity of the corona virus electrostatic double layer, and reducing its electrokinetic potential before accelerating it into the airspace. Increasing its ability to flocculate with active viral aerosols, and subsequently settle out of the airspace for cleaning, or captive via a filter.
