MEDICAL DEVICE FOR THE INTERDICTION OF AIRBORNE BACTERIA AND VIRUSES
20220118289 · 2022-04-21 · ·

Devices, systems, and methods for generating an air curtain and/or air wall around a user's face to prevent airborne viruses and bacteria from coming within close proximity of the user's facial features. The devices include a wearable head-mount with an air manifold and a pack including an air pump and a filter. The filter can be replaceable. Filtered air is forced through tubing to the air manifold. The air manifold provides a filtered air curtain around the user's face. The methods include utilizing the device to generate an air curtain around a user's face.

FACIAL GUARD SYSTEM
20230302306 · 2023-09-28 ·

A facial guard system configured to be worn on a person's head, in front of the face, has a barrier with a peripheral edge that cooperates with a base that acts as a seal between the barrier and the person's face to create an enclosed space around the facial orifices into which air may flow into only through a submaxillary filtered opening and one or more additional filtered openings defined in the barrier and/or base. The base includes a conforming section that creates a continuous seal across the wearer's forehead, down along the zygoma, cheek, and jaw on each side of the wearer's face, and then to or under the wearer's chin. The submaxillary filtered opening may include an integrated filter and fan unit for blowing air into enclosed spaced directed toward the nostrils of a person wearing the facial guard system.

RESPIRATOR HAVING AN AIRFLOW NOISE REDUCTION DEVICE

A respirator comprising: an air supply unit arranged to deliver air at its output; headgear comprising a cradle for interfacing with a user's head, and a face covering from within which the user breathes; a tube to receive air from the air supply unit; and an interface component to receive air from the tube and to deliver said air within the face covering, wherein the interface component provides a frame for supporting the face covering, and comprises an overhead branch and a forehead branch, wherein the overhead branch comprises one or more bleed holes, such that in use vibrations from the air supply and tube are reduced. Components of the respirator and related methods are also described.

FACE SHIELD
20220023680 · 2022-01-27 ·

A face shield adapted to fit over a face of a user to cover a nose and mouth of the user. The face shield includes an exhale port, an attachment system to fasten the shield to the user, a fan insert receiver, and an air inlet opening connected to the fan insert receiver. A fan that attaches to the fan insert receiver. The fan includes a motor, fan blades attached to the motor and an air exit. The air exit of the fan is positioned to dump air from the air inlet opening into the area covered by the shield. An air filter is connected to the air inlet opening of the shield. An exhale valve is connected to the exhale port that allows waste air to exit the shield. There is a power source connected to the fan motor to run the fan.

POWERED AIR-PURIFYING RESPIRATOR ASSEMBLY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD

A powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) assembly includes, among other things, a tube extending from a filtration unit to a headpiece system. The tube is biased toward a looped position where the tube includes a loop. A PAPR manufacturing method includes, among other things, reorienting a tube to have a loop by placing the tube about a mandrel, heat-treating the tube, and removing the mandrel from the tube. The tube is biased toward a looped position after the removing due to the heat-treating while the tube is reoriented to have the loop.

AIR PURIFICATION FACE MASK STRUCTURE
20210361982 · 2021-11-25 ·

The air purification face mask structure of the present invention, which includes a body, a fan, a filter, an outer cover, an air deflector, an ultrasonic vibration device, a face mask body and a strap, in which external air is guided into the face mask by the fan and the air deflector, and a solution like an enzyme or essential oil in a container is converted into an atomized state by the ultrasonic vibration device for spraying towards the mouth and the nose of a user, thereby achieving anti-bacterial and anti-inflammation effects.

ACTIVE RESPIRATORY FILTRATION SYSTEM
20210361983 · 2021-11-25 ·

An active respiratory filtration system that provides a continuous flow of filtered air to a face mask, covering the nose and mouth of the user. The forced air is directed into the inner volume of the face mask, creating a positive pressure which yields several advantages, including: reducing user inhalation, reducing heat built-up within the face mask's inner volume, help overcome face mask perimeter seal breach issues. Some embodiments include the use of pliable mask filters, enabling the filtration of exhalation air from the user to the environment, thereby protecting others. Other embodiments include at least one check valve integrated into the face mask, thereby reducing the user exhalation effort. The system is configured to be compact, light-weight and portable.

MASK APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A mask apparatus includes a mask body having a fan module, a seal defining a breathing space, a pressure sensor sensing air pressure in the breathing space, a mask body cover coupled to the mask body, and a controller that controls a rotation speed of the fan module based on pressure values. The controller is configured to determine breathing information including a maximum pressure value and time point, and a minimum pressure value and time point, determine a breathing state of a user based on the breathing information, determine whether the breathing state is a steady state, determine a tidal volume of the user based on the breathing information, and control the rotation speed of the fan module based on the tidal volume.
