Compression-based portable air treatment systems and methods
A portable air treatment system configured to be carried by an individual and deliver air, via a mask, to the individual, is provided. The system includes an air inlet allowing atmospheric air to enter at an air flow rate ranging between 2 liters/min to 10 liters/min, an air compression system connected with the air inlet for compressing the incoming air, thereby increasing the temperature of the air to a minimum temperature of 170° C., a hot air chamber connected with the air compression system for receiving the heated air from the air compression system and retaining the heated air for a period of 30-100 milliseconds, an air decompression system connected with the heated air chamber for expanding the heated air thereby decreasing the temperature of the heated air to a temperature ranging between 14° C. to 45° C., and an air outlet connected with the air expansion system for directing the cooled air to the individual via the mask.
Multiplex inertial filter, collector and separator
Methods and systems are provided for a multiplexed phase separating inertial filter that is composed of helical through holes generating centrifugal separating forces. In one example, the inertial filter may be a planar porous material with an array of helical channels, each helical channel of the array of helical channels extending from a top surface of the porous material to a bottom surface of the porous material.
MULTI-LAYER AIR FILTRATION MEDIA WITH INTEGRATED DISINFECTION CAPABILITY
An air filtration media with integrated disinfection capability. The media has a collection filter for capture of pathogens, and an ultraviolet (UV) radiation source integrated into the collection filter such that the pathogens collected by the collection filter are exposed to UV radiation from the UV radiation source.
Hybrid face mask assembly
A hybrid disposable face mask has a first mask section having a filter area sized and shaped to fit in overlapping relationship only about the mouth area of the wearer and a second mask section having inserts, one for each nostril, sized and shaped to be sealably retained air tight in each nostril. The second mask section can be linked to a valve assembly which opens during exhale and closes during inhale. The first mask section may be supported solely by the second mask section or by separate structure. The combination allows one to eat and drink while breathing through the nose filter.
LIFE-SAVING TOWEL WITH FUNCTION OF GENERATING OXYGEN
A life-saving towel generates oxygen in the event of an emergency such as a fire to enable a user to survive for a long time. The life-saving towel includes: a filter sheet; an oxygen generating receptor in which an oxygen generating material is accommodated and which is coupled to one surface of the filter sheet; an oxygen generating receptor barrier frame in contact with the other surface of the filter sheet, which is coupled to the oxygen generating receptor with the filter sheet interposed therebetween and has a plurality of empty spaces formed therein; and an oxygen generating cover in contact with the other surface of the oxygen generating receptor barrier frame to cover all of the plurality of empty spaces of the oxygen generating receptor barrier frame and having a bonding portion formed on one surface to be bonded to the oxygen generating receptor barrier frame.

Conformal filter
A filter housing for use with a protective mask or other personal protective equipment is described including a base, a top, a sidewall connecting the top and the base, and a void that houses a filter medium or a filter medium cannister. The housing also includes an inlet with an inlet opening for receiving ambient gas into the container, an outlet including an outlet opening for discharging gas from the container to the protective mask, and an interface for removably securing the filter housing to the protective mask or other personal protective equipment. The base may include a concave surface substantially surrounding the opening and the interface, and a space between the void and the concave surface of the base may be partitioned by a plurality of members connected at least partially to the base or the sidewall and define a substantially planar surface facing the void.
