RESCUE TUBE
A rescue device for assisting in removing an individual from a confined space comprises a sheet comprising a high-density polyethylene having first and second ends and a projection extending laterally outward from the first end and has a top edge, a bottom edge, a projection edge, and a securing element. The sheet has first and second through apertures inset from the second end and aligned with the projection. The sheet is rollable between an undeployed position wherein the sheet has a reduced diameter and a deployed position wherein the projection is passed through the first and second through apertures and partially secured by the securing element. In the deployed position, the securing element may abut the sheet and retain the device in the deployed position.

PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE
The present invention is a personal flotation device comprising an inflatable bladder, a harness configured to be worn on the body of the user comprising a body belt and at least two vertical straps on the front of the harness configured to extend upward over the user's shoulders and connect to the back of the harness, the inflatable bladder attached to the front of the harness and slidably attached to the body belt and the at least two vertical straps, an inflation mechanism configured to inflate the inflatable bladder, and the inflatable bladder configured to expand vertically and horizontally across the user's chest when it is inflated.
AVALANCHE PROTECTION DEVICE
The present invention relates to an avalanche protection device that includes an avalanche protection backpack with at least one inflatable buoyant airbag and a breathing system with a breathing housing. The breathing housing connects a one-way inhalation valve to an inhalation tube, and at least one intake port, and at least one ambient air suction zone. It also connects a one-way exhalation valve to an exhalation tube and a CO.sub.2 exhalation region. A mouthpiece is provided on the breathing housing, which is able to be automatically pulled tightly onto the mouth of an avalanche victim by means of a facial airbag, by actuating a trigger handle. The invention additionally relates to a method for using such an avalanche protection device.
