SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOWERING A USER FROM AN ELEVATED POSITION
A system for lowering a user from an elevated position is described. The system includes a fall-arresting device operable to arrest a fall of a user attached to the fall-arresting device, a harness for wearing by the user, and a separable connector for attaching the harness to the fall-arresting device. The separable connector is configured to separate in response to a minimum load of about 0.66 kN acting on the separable connector and thereby disconnect the harness from the fall-arresting device.
Energy-Absorbing Unit for Self-Retracting Lifeline
An energy-absorbing unit with a first end bearing a modular connector that is disconnectably connectable to a complementary modular connector of a cable of a self-retracting lifeline, and with a second end bearing a fastener that is fastenable to a dorsal connection point of a fall-protection harness. Uses of such units in combination with self-retracting lifelines and fall-protection harnesses.
FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM
A fall protection system includes a mast assembly including a fixed mast section, a movable mast section, and a winch assembly. The fall protection system further includes a locking mechanism adapted to lock the movable mast section relative to the fixed mast section. The locking mechanism includes a locking pawl connected to the winch assembly. The locking pawl is adapted to rotate between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The locking pawl engages with the fixed mast section in the engaged position to prevent relative movement between the fixed mast section and the movable mast section. The locking mechanism also includes at least one spring adapted to bias the locking pawl towards the engaged position. Further, the winch assembly is adapted to retain the locking pawl in the disengaged position against the biasing of the at least one spring based on a tension selectively applied by the winch assembly.
Cable holder and running element
A cable holder and a running element for a cable system of an anti-fall device, wherein the cable holder is reversibly rotatably mounted and the axis of rotation of the cable holder is offset parallel to a cable.
Latch activation between members
Described herein is a system, method of use and Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) apparatus using a system that governs a dynamic response between members causing a halt in relative motion between the members. Magnetic interactions, eddy current drag forces and centrifugal and/or inertial forces may provide various mechanisms of governing movement.
Smart emergency escape backpack
Disclosed is a smart emergency escape backpack, comprising a harness bound to a user and a controlled descent mechanism; wherein the controlled descent mechanism includes an anchor support, a hub mounted on the anchor support, and a centrifugal speed reduction damper fitted with the hub, a cable being wound around the hub; wherein a cable take-up actuating mechanism is further provided on the anchor support, and the cable take-up actuating mechanism includes an electric motor, a transmission structure connected to the electric motor, and a synchronous wheel connected to the transmission mechanism, the synchronous wheel actuating the hub to rotate reversely.
Harness back plate and strap arrangement
A wearable body harness has first and second shoulder straps arranged in an X-shape, a back plate on a rear portion of the shoulder straps with the first shoulder strap crossing over the second at the back plate. The back plate includes a pair of lower guide slots, having a first lower guide slot side and a second lower guide slot side contiguous with the first and arranged at an angle relative thereto, and a pair of upper guide slots, having a first upper guide slot side and a second upper guide slot side contiguous with the first and arranged at an angle relative thereto. A first of the pair of upper and lower guide slots route a webbing material of the first shoulder strap. A second of the pair of upper and the pair of lower guide slots route the webbing material of the second shoulder strap.
Animal harness and leash system
A system and method for providing hands-free animal walking. The system generally comprises a human support device and an animal leash system. The human support device further includes a back center strap, at least one shoulder strap, and an adjustable body strap, to provide ergonomic support and even distribution of force to the user. The animal leash system further includes an elastic leash system to connect the human support device to an animal. When combined, the animal harness and leash system provides an improved, ergonomically sound hands-free animal walking system. The system is particularly adapted for hand-held health sensors, to track health information of the user.
Rescue rig
An illustrated view of an exemplary rescue rig for rescue and recovery of a person, such as an oil field worker, soldier, etc., animal, supplies, etc. The rescue rig is useful for efficient and effective rescue when a man or person is down. The rescue rig is useful for quick, efficient and effective outfitting of a down person such that rescue can occur quickly thereby rescuers out of dangerous situations or terrains quickly. The rescue rig allows for a smaller rescuer to be able to rescue a bigger man down. The rescue rig is preferably made of a nylon material, however other materials are hereby contemplated, including, but not limited to, Kevlar®, Nomex®, Dyneema®, etc. The rescue rig has a main strap, torso portion, a head portion and a rescuer portion.
Safety Harness with Self-Locking Dorsal Brace
A fall-protection safety harness including left and right shoulder straps and a waist strap, and a dorsal plate mounted on the left and right shoulder straps at a dorsal crossing point. A dorsal brace for use with such a harness, the brace comprising a self-locking fastener at the upper end of the dorsal brace. The fastener is fastenable, and self-locking, to the dorsal plate, and a lower end of the dorsal brace is connectable to the waist strap. Methods of equipping a safety harness with the dorsal brace.
