Flame mitigation device for a portable fuel container
A portable fuel container includes a fuel reservoir and an access port therefor, and an elongate flame mitigation device in the fuel reservoir behind the access port. The flame mitigation device includes an open mouth sealed around the access port, a closed bottom opposing the mouth, and an intermediate tubular sidewall. In addition, the flame mitigation device has a woven construction. In relation to the woven construction, the flame mitigation device includes inelastically resiliently flexible interwoven warps and wefts. Moreover, the flame mitigation device interstitially defines quenching openings between the warps and the wefts configured to allow liquid fuel therethrough, but prevent air-fuel mixtures ignited as flames from propagating therethrough. Moreover, the flame mitigation device is elastically flexible to hold its shape, but elastically flex under manual manipulation.

FLAME ARRESTER
Examples include releasing flammable gas from a container interior, via through-passage gaps of a metal structure cylindrical flame barrier secured in a hole through a wall of the container, to an exterior region as released flammable gas, and combusting the released flammable gas in the exterior region. The cylindrical flame barrier extends a height, has an internal facing end that faces the container interior and has an external end that extends from top side of the wall to the other end, by an amount least a fifth of the cylindrical barrier's overall height. The external end absorbs combustion heat energy. The projecting portion radiates the absorbed heat energy. The radiating is determined in part by the projecting height, and is configured to maintain the interior facing end at a temperature below the combustion temperature of the gas.

Flush-mount NPT plug
An electro-pneumatic controller includes a base portion having at least one lateral surface and a plurality of passageways disposed through the base portion. A bore extends through the lateral surface, and the bore has a counterbore portion and a threaded engagement portion. A standard NPT plug may be coupled to the base portion, and the plug has a head portion and an engagement portion that threadedly engages the engagement portion of the bore. A top surface of the head portion of the plug is coplanar with the lateral surface of the base portion or is disposed within the counterbore portion of the bore.
