Fire suppressant systems
A fire suppressant system is a device that uses steam/super-heated water to suppress and put out fires rather than the traditional water method. The invention uses steam/super-heated water under high pressure to blow out and suppress the fire. The wet pressurized steam/super-heated water blows out the fire and the pressure removes (displaces) the oxygen and spark needed for the fire to continue burning. The wet steam/super-heated water works much like water to suppress and put out the fire but the additional benefits of the pressure help to reduce the fuel (air and spark) for the fire as well.

Surrogate foam test system
A fluid distribution system includes a first flow meter configured to be positioned along an agent line, a metering valve configured to be positioned downstream of the first flow meter, a second flow meter configured to be positioned downstream of the first flow meter and an eductor, and a controller configured to selectively operate the fluid distribution system in a testing mode where the controller is configured to acquire a first flow rate of a fluid flowing through the first flow meter and a second flow rate of the fluid flowing through the second flow meter, determine a performance characteristic based on the first flow rate and the second flow rate, and modulate a current setting of the metering valve from a first setting to a second setting and conduct the testing mode sequence again at the second setting to verify the fluid distribution system is performing properly.
Self contained fire extinguisher system including a linear temperature sensor
A self contained fire extinguisher system that does not need external power in order to sense or initiate a release of a fire suppression medium, includes components configured to utilize a linear sensor network that can be connected to at least one and/or different sources of fire suppression mediums. A linear temperature sensing cord can be routed over a large area not practical with individual sensors. The cord can also actuate several and different sources of fire suppression mediums to maximize the suppression of a fire.
Device for spraying a liquid
A spray device (100) for spraying a liquid (L), the device comprises a tank (10) containing the liquid (L) for spraying, at least one liquid ejector member (20) in communication with said tank (10), and a pyrotechnic gas generator (30) for pressurizing the liquid inside said tank and propelling it under pressure out from said tank. According to the invention, in at least one mode of operation, the ejector member (20) is in communication with the gas generator (30) in such a manner as to enable it to be fed with the gas generated by said generator (30).
FIRE SUPPRESSING GAS GENERATORS, SYSTEMS, AND ARRANGEMENTS
A fire suppressing gas generator includes a housing structure having an inner housing component comprising an array of discharge ports distributed thereon, an outer housing component encapsulating the inner housing component and comprising an array of openings distributed thereon, and spacing structure extending between the inner housing component and the outer housing component to maintain the inner housing component and the outer housing component in a fixed spaced relationship. A fire suppression subsystem within the inner housing includes at least one column of stacked propellant grains each comprising a pressed mixture of sodium azide and iron oxide.
BUCKET SUPPORTED POLYMER GEL EMULSION PREPARATION SYSTEM
The system includes an intake assembly upstream of a pump within the bucket which selectively uses an outer port for drawing water outside of the bucket into the system and an inner port for drawing water from within the bucket into the system. A polymer gel port is interposed between the intake assembly and the pump for combination, mixing and activation of a water and polymer gel emulsion combination within the pump. A fill assembly is provided downstream of the pump which can selectively direct water back into the bucket. A discharge assembly is also provided downstream of the pump which leads to a nozzle or other outlet for water and/or polymer gel emulsion from the system. A control valve selects between delivery of water and/or polymer gel emulsion back into the bucket through the fill assembly or out of the bucket through the discharge.
Fire suppression systems and methods of suppressing a fire
Fire suppression apparatuses include a housing with gas generant material disposed therein, an initiator for igniting the gas generant material, and a cooling system. The cooling system includes a first chamber with a coolant material disposed therein and a second chamber. The coolant material is caused to flow from the first chamber into the second chamber to cool gas formed by the ignition of the gas generant material upon exiting from the housing under pressure. The cooling system may further include a piston disposed within the first chamber and movable responsive to gas pressure. Methods for cooling a fire suppressant gas and methods for suppressing a fire include flowing a fire suppressant gas into first and second chambers of a cooling system, flowing a coolant material from the first chamber into the second chamber, and contacting the fire suppressant gas with the coolant material to cool the fire suppressant gas.
