PROPORTIONER FOR A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM
A proportioner having a body portion that defines a foam passage and a fluid passage. The proportioner also includes a restrictor assembly having a restrictor disk and an orifice plate having an opening for receiving the restrictor disk. The proportioner can further include a rod member connected to the restrictor disk and a clapper assembly connected to the rod member via a sliding interface. The clapper assembly can be configured to control a flow of the foam concentrate through the foam passage in proportion to a flow of the fire protection fluid through the fluid passage by moving the rod member to vary the distance between the restrictor disk and the orifice plate. The sliding interface can be disposed between a first guide and a second guide, and at least a portion of the restrictor disk is deposed in the opening.
PROPORTIONER FOR A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM
A proportioner having a body portion that defines a fluid passage for transporting a fire protection fluid and a foam passage for transporting a foam concentrate. The foam concentrate mixes with the fire protection fluid to form a fire protection solution. The proportioner also includes a restrictor assembly having a restrictor disk and an orifice plate. The orifice plate has an opening for receiving the restrictor disk. The restrictor disk and opening are configured to form an annulus between an outer surface of the restrictor disk and an inner surface of the opening when at least a portion of the restrictor disk is disposed within the opening and the restrictor disk is spaced from the orifice plate. The restrictor assembly is configured to maintain the annulus for a full travel range of the restrictor disk.
Fire fighting system
A mobile firefighting system includes a water cannon enabled for spraying slush on or near a fire. The slush includes solid material (e.g., ice, solid fire retardant) that is projected farther than a liquid could be projected using high pressure. The slush has enhanced fire suppression and fire protection characteristics compared to a liquid. Multiple tanks add enhanced slush chilling capability (e.g., through sequenced chilling) and provide redundant backup systems. A mobile cannon includes multiple reducing nozzles that can be aimed by a rotating base and hydraulic cylinder (for raising and lowering). Continuous tracks and winches contribute to all-terrain capabilities.
Apparatus for Diluting and Applying Firefighting Chemical
This relates to apparatus that can form dilute aqueous firefighting compositions from an aqueous concentrate.
Integrated cargo fire suppression and inerting system
An integrated fire suppression system receives inert gas from onboard gas generators and water effluent from onboard water generators. The inert gas and water effluent are mixed in a gas-water mixer to generate an inert aerosol. The inert aerosol is provided to a fire suppressant distribution network and sprayed into areas of the aircraft requiring fire suppression to provide cooling and to prevent reignition.
RESTAUARNT SUPRESSION SYSTEM WITH PHASED AGENT DELIVERY
A fire suppression system is disclosed. The fire suppression system comprises a first storage cylinder configured for storing a first suppression solution. The system comprises a second storage cylinder operatively connected to the first storage cylinder. The second storage cylinder is configured for storing a second suppression solution, wherein in response to a detection of a fire condition, the first storage cylinder is configured to release the first solution into the second storage cylinder to cause the second solution to be delivered first during a first phase of a discharge.
Surrogate foam test system
An agent distribution system includes a water tank, a flush line, a flush valve, an agent storage tank, an agent line, an agent valve, a first flow meter, and a second flow meter. The flush line receives water from the water tank. The flush valve is configured to selectively prevent water from flowing along the flush line downstream of the flush valve. The agent line receives agent from the agent tank. The agent valve is configured to selectively prevent agent from flowing along the agent line downstream of the agent valve. The flush line extends into the agent line at a junction. The junction is disposed downstream of the agent valve. The first flow meter is positioned along the agent line downstream of the junction. The second flow meter is positioned downstream of the first flow meter and upstream of a discharge system.
SPRAYABLE FOAMED ROCK DUST COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
Provided is a foamed dust composition and a method of using the foamed dust composition. The foamed dust composition contains an aqueous foam comprising a foaming agent, a foam stabilizer, water, and a rock dust. The foamed dust composition is sprayed onto coal mine surfaces to prevent coal dust explosion in the event of a fire.
Method and Device for Producing an Extinguishing Foam Containing an Extinguishing Gas
The present invention relates to a method for producing compressed-air foam and to a corresponding device. The method comprises providing fire-fighting water admixed with foaming agent, and foaming the fire-fighting water admixed with foaming agent, with addition of compressed gas, wherein the compressed gas comprises a chemical extinguishing agent. The method according to the invention and the device according to the invention allow the production of an effective extinguishing foam due to the inhibitory effect of the chemical extinguishing agent.
SYSTEM FOR INERTING AT LEAST ONE VOLUME IN AN AIRCRAFT VIA AT LEAST ONE FUEL CELL
A system for inerting at least one volume in an aircraft includes at least one generator of inert gas fed with compressed air originating from a passenger cabin, and means for distributing the inert gas into the volume to be rendered inert, which are connected to the generator of inert gas. According to the invention, the generator of inert gas comprises a fuel cell including an outlet of oxygen-depleted gas connected to means for drying said gas.
