Environmentally-clean fire inhibiting and extinguishing compositions and products for sorbing flammable liquids while inhibiting ignition and extinguishing fire
Environmentally-clean fire inhibiting and extinguishing dry powder compositions and products for sorbing flammable liquids while inhibiting ignition and extinguishing fire involving flammable hydrocarbon liquids such as, oils, fuels and non-polar solvents such as ketones and alcohols. The dry powder chemical compositions are made by mixing, blending and milling to suitable powder particle sizes, the following components: a fire extinguishing agent in the form of at least one alkali metal salt of a nonpolymeric saturated carboxylic acid; a powder fluidizing agent to help provide the dry powder composition with excellent fluid flow characteristics; and an oleophilic/hydrophobic composition for absorbing liquid hydrocarbons, while repelling water. A surfactant may be added to promote the formation of anhydrous semi-crystalline metal mineral salt film onto the surface of flammable hydrocarbon liquids involved in fire outbreaks to be extinguished and preferably absorbed by the dry powder chemical compositions.

MOBILE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
A mobile fire suppression system is described comprising a pump, a substance release tube (SRT), a first tank, a second tank and a recirculation valve assembly (RVA). The pump has a suction inlet and a discharge outlet. The SRT comprises a substance inlet and a substance release outlet. The first tank receives a foaming agent and has a first cavity, a first inlet, and a first outlet. The second tank receives the foaming agent and a carrier agent. The second tank comprises a second cavity, a second inlet, and a second outlet, the first outlet in fluid communication with the second cavity. The RVA comprises a recirculation inlet connected to the discharge outlet, a release outlet connected to the substance inlet, and a recirculation outlet communicating with the second cavity. The RVA selectively directs a flow from the recirculation inlet to one of the release outlet and the recirculation outlet.

Fire fighting systems and methods
The method of maintaining a first flow rate through a first valve in a fluid delivery system, the fluid delivery system including a and a plurality of fluid valves in fluid communication with the pump, and a controller controlling the pressure generated by the pump and the position of the plurality of valves. The method includes providing the first flow rate of a fluid pressurized by the pump through the first valve, receiving a request for a second flow rate of the fluid through a second valve, determining a predicted effect on the first flow rate based on the request, adjusting at least one of the position of the first valve and the pressure generated by the pump to maintain the first flow rate based on the predicted effect, and adjusting the position of the second valve to provide the second flow rate of the fluid through the second valve.

LIQUID HYDROCARBON SORBING ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE FOR INHIBITING FIRE IGNITION INVOLVING FLAMMABLE LIQUID HYDROCARBONS, WHILE ABSORBING THE FLAMMABLE LIQUID HYDROCARBONS WHEN SPILLED ON A BODY OF WATER AND/OR LAND
A liquid hydrocarbon sorbing article of manufacture including a hydrophobic/oleophilic fibrous material contained within a carrier, and chemically treated for inhibiting fire ignition involving flammable liquid hydrocarbons, while absorbing the flammable liquid hydrocarbons when spilled on a body of water and/or land. The treatment is carried out by a process involving: formulating an environmentally-clean fire inhibiting liquid chemical using tripotassium citrate (TPC), and a coalescing and/or dispersant agent mixed together; and applying said environmentally-clean fire inhibiting liquid chemical so as to coat the surfaces of hydrophobic/oleophilic fibrous material for absorbing flammable liquid hydrocarbons. The article of manufacture is selected from the group consisting of tubes, socks, mats, fabric, and canvas.
