Long-term fire retardant with corrosion inhibitors and methods for making and using same
A forest fire retardant composition contains water and a retardant compound that includes a halide salt, a non-halide salt, a metal oxide, a metal hydroxide, or combinations thereof. The halide salt may be magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, or both. The magnesium chloride hydrate has a formula MgCl.sub.2(H.sub.2O).sub.x, wherein x is at least one of x=1, 2, 4, 6, 8, or 12. The calcium chloride hydrate has a formula CaCl.sub.2(H.sub.2O).sub.x, wherein x is at least one of 1, 2, 4, or 6. The composition may be in the form of a liquid concentrate or a final diluted product. The final diluted product is effective in suppressing, retarding, and controlling forest fires while exhibiting corrosion resistance and low toxicity.

MOBILE PUMP SYSTEM PROVIDED WITH COUPLED MOTOR DRIVE FOR PUMPING WATER AND METHOD THEREFOR
The invention relates to a mobile pump system for pumping water and/or extinguishing agent and an associated method therefor. The mobile pump system comprises:
a frame for housing the pump system;
a booster pump arranged in the frame;
one or more submersible pumps arranged in the frame;
a booster pump motor drive configured to drive the booster pump;
a hydraulics motor drive configured to drive the one or more submersible pumps and wherein the hydraulics motor drive is configured to function as auxiliary drive for the booster pump; and
a coupling for coupling the booster pump to the hydraulics motor drive such that the hydraulics motor drive can function as auxiliary drive for the booster pump.
Water-discharging machine
Provided is a fire-fighting system that has a very simple structure with only a hose and a water discharge nozzle mounted on a vehicle, can bring the vehicle close to the fire site by automatic operation or remote control, and minimizes the occurrence of a water hammer when water is supplied. A hose reel is installed on a base which is installed on a vehicle, so as to be rotatable around a rotary shaft extending vertically, a hose having shape retaining property is spirally wound around the hose reel and around the rotary shaft, the lower end of the hose is connectable to a water discharge pump installed behind the vehicle, and the upper end of the hose passes through the rotary shaft of the hose reel and is connected to a water discharge nozzle installed at the upper position of the vehicle.

A fluid-jet emitting machine, particularly a firefighting machine, comprises a fluid-jet emitting device, a transport vehicle, lifting members and a control device. Each lifting member comprises an actuator constrained to the transport vehicle and at least one idler wheel adapted to engage a rail of a track. The actuators are configured to move the respective wheels between a non-operative position, in which the wheels are distanced from the respective rail, and an operative position, in which the wheels are arranged in contact with the respective rail. The control device is operatively associated with the actuators to activate the passage of the wheels from the non-operative position to the operative position so that during movement along a track and in said operative position, the wheels prove to be pressed against the respective rail, exerting a force such as to reduce only part of the pressure exerted by the movement means of the vehicle on the track.

A fluid-jet emitting machine, particularly a firefighting machine, comprises a fluid-jet emitting device, a transport vehicle, lifting members and a control device.
