A firefighter training unit for simulating use of a fire extinguishing system, the unit including: a reel; a user-manipulable nozzle; a hose having opposite ends attached respectively to the reel and the nozzle and being partially wound around the reel, wherein rotation of the reel in a first rotational direction allows the hose to be unwound from the reel; a motor configured to drive the reel in a second rotational direction which causes the hose to be wound onto the reel; one or more devices for providing one or more output signals corresponding to one or more simulated operating conditions of the fire extinguishing system; and a controller configured to drive the motor in response to the one or more output signals so as to apply torque to the reel in the second rotational direction to simulate forces applied to the hose during operation of the fire extinguishing system.

A coupling which can enhance safety will be provided, when the coupling, a hose, and the like are exposed to high pressure for some reasons or other while in use, by leaking the high pressure fluid to the outside to open a sealing portion of the coupling at a stage where the coupling condition between the couplings is maintained, and decreases the pressure. Further, the coupling can warn the operator or the like of the abnormality by ejecting a fluid from a leak path or a fluid ejection port.

A coupling which can enhance safety will be provided, when the coupling, a hose, and the like are exposed to high pressure for some reasons or other while in use, by leaking the high pressure fluid to the outside to open a sealing portion of the coupling at a stage where the coupling condition between the couplings is maintained, and decreases the pressure. The fire hose and pump system is a fully duplex water management system adapted for use in firefighting. The fire hose and pump system pumps and delivers water during firefighting operations. The pump is reversible and can be used to remove water from the scene after firefighting operations have terminated. The fire hose and pump system further comprises a communication extender for improving communication reliability in a hazardous situation and an emergency lighting capability for low light situations. The fire hose and pump system comprises a modified hose, a pump system, and an electronic system.

An extension assembly for a fire suppression spray nozzle is provided. A tube having a first end and a second end is welded to a female hose coupler at the tube's first end. A male hose coupler is welded to the second end of the tube. A support sleeve connected to the female hose coupler inserts into a fire suppression spray nozzle or another instance of the extension assembly to provide for easy alignment of the threaded connectors and for adding strength to the connection.

Disclosed is a connecting device. The disclosed connecting device includes a connecting unit whose inside is penetrated and opened and closed according to rotation of a rotor provided therein, and an opening/closing unit that is rotatably coupled to the connecting unit and opens and closes the inside of the connecting unit by rotating the rotor, when being rotated with respect to the connecting unit.

A fire hose coupling comprises a body having a first end connected to a fire hose and a second end having either male or female threads or, alternatively, a quarter-turn sexless coupler. The fire hose coupling comprises a recessed portion formed in an outer surface of the body. The recessed portion is shaped to define a visuotactile directional indicator such as an arrow. The recessed portion may include a light-reflecting surface to enhance visibility such as a super reflective metal film, a photo luminescent coating, or a phosfluorescent coating. The recessed directional indicator may be formed in female, male or sexless (Storz) couplings.
