MULTI-SENSORY AND INTERDISCIPLINARY BALANCE PLATFORM TRAINING APPARATUS
This invention encompasses a balance board/wobbling platform type of apparatus which uniquely enables integrative training in two distinct realms not normally combined—namely, directly integrating physical BALANCE with expressive MUSICALITY such that MUSIC itself can actually be created by the BALANCING adjustments of the user/s. In a direct sort of way, the user of the Giant Musical Wobble Board is actually enabled to create MUSIC by means of BALANCE. This unique empowerment is effected by means of toned bells (or other sounding devices) being affixed in an easily moveable manner (in the preferred embodiment) to the surface of a wobbling platform—which (in the preferred embodiment) is of a substantive size—so that the user through minute balancing adjustments can direct a rolling ball to contact/sound the toned bells. A “hook and loop” based attachment system is utilized (in the preferred embodiment) whereby the toned bells—and/or other props—can quickly and easily by removed and/or repositioned so as to enable a vast variety of changes and thus maximally interest the user and maximally challenge the user's balance and adaptability. Moreover, the way wherein this product uniquely makes it possible to integrate BALANCE and MUSIC with ACADEMIC INFORMATION, gives this particular balance board a surpassing degree of interest-generating power and INTEGRATIVE, INTERDISCIPLINARY breadth.
QUICK FOLDING AGILITY LADDER
A quick folding agility ladder and methods of folding and opening the agility ladder are disclosed. In one embodiment, the quick folding agility ladder can comprise a plurality of rectangular ladder frames and a plurality of ladder rung sleeves connecting the rectangular ladder frames. The plurality of ladder rung sleeves can comprise a first rung sleeve and a second rung sleeve. The agility ladder can be folded into a quadrifolium configuration comprising four petal-shaped portions including a first petal-shaped portion, a second petal-shaped portion, a third petal-shaped portion, and a fourth petal-shaped portion. The first rung sleeve can form at least part of the first petal-shaped portion and the fourth petal-shaped portion and the second rung sleeve can form at least part of the second petal-shaped portion and the third petal-shaped portion.
BALANCE MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
Balance measurement systems and methods thereof include at least one measurement device or indicator and an unstable or dynamic device or surface or other balance device. In example forms, the at least one measurement device is generally removably mounted to a portion of the body of a user (and/or to a portion of the balance device) such that the movements and body behavior of a user (and/or the balance device) can be measured as the user attempts to balance on the balance device. According to one example form, the unstable device includes a suspended rope or slackline. According to other example forms, the balance device includes a generally unstable platform.
Rebound and balance training device
A rebound and balance training device includes a frame, a footboard, and a plurality of resilient spring elements extending between and attached to the frame and the footboard to support the footboard above a supporting surface. A user standing on the footboard manually effects repeated vertical bouncing movement between upper and lower positions. The distance traveled by the footboard, the effort required to effect movement, and the stability thereof may be modified by selectively modifying the number, the length, the position, or the elasticity of the resilient elements. In one embodiment, a pair of footboards is employed to simulate skiing movements.
BALANCE TRAINING SYSTEM, METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME, AND CONTROL PROGRAM
A balance training system includes: a load detection part including a mounting surface for supporting soles of feet of a trainee in a standing state, the load detection part detecting a load received from the trainee riding on the mounting surface; a mobile body to which the load detection part is attached; a control unit that calculates a position of a center of gravity of the trainee based on the load detected by the load detection part and controls a movement of the mobile body based on a change of the position of his/her center of gravity; and a vibrator provided so as to be able to apply a vibration to the trainee. The control unit vibrates the vibrator so as to prompt the trainee to move the position of his/her center of gravity from a current position of the center of gravity to an expected position thereof.
Self-contained transformable balance board
A transformable balance board that may be alternately used as a balance board or wobble platform and a wheeled board or roller platform. The balance board includes a rigid platform preferably covered with a closed-cell yielding foam pad layer on top on which a user can support his or her weight. When used as a wobble platform, a relatively large central fulcrum member extends down from the rigid platform so that the board wobbles with no stable horizontal position. In a second usage configuration as a wheeled board or roller platform a plurality of sturdy wheels or rollers retracted into the underside of the rigid platform are extended vertically downward from their retracted positions. Because the vertical height of the wheels is greater than the vertical height of the fulcrum member below the rigid platform, the wheels make contact with the ground and the fulcrum is lifted up and out of contact with the floor below.
Balance training system
Balance training systems and methods are disclosed. A balance training system is disclosed, comprising: a lower member having a ground contacting surface and an upward facing surface; an upper member having a foot receiving surface and a downward facing surface; the upward facing surface and the downward facing surface being shaped for contact with each other; and the upper member having a balance position when a balance point on the upper member is in contact with the lower member. A balance training system is also disclosed comprising a first platform having a top surface (ground plane) which supports the user's weight, a support having flexible and/or compressible upward facing surface in contact with a downward facing surface of the first platform, the ground plane being within 0.5″ of the top surface of the flexible and/or compressible upward facing surface to reduce or prevent horizontal movement of the ground plane when the first platform changes angle. A balance training system is further disclosed, comprising a first platform having a top surface (ground plane) that supports the user's weight, a curved downward facing convex surface of the first platform, the top surface being aligned within ½″ of the downward facing curved surface.
Exercising device with multi-position handle and method therefore
An exercising device includes an axle having a substantially straight portion and a pair of end portions disposed generally perpendicular to the straight portion, at least one wheel mounted for rotation on a peripheral surface of the straight portion and including a center aperture, a sleeve positioned between the peripheral surface of the straight portion and a peripheral surface of the aperture, a pair of collars with a threaded aperture disposed within a thickness of the each of the pair of collars, a pair of threaded fasteners seated within threaded apertures and having an inner end thereof in an abutting engagement with an exterior surface of the axle, a pair of end stops, each of the pair of end stops secured to an end of a respective end portion and at least one grip member disposed on the axle on each side of the at least one wheel.
BALANCE EXERCISER FOR USE AT WORK
A low-cost balance exerciser for use at work includes a central support for a ball joint disposed on a base, an inflatable elastic toroidal bladder disposed on the base and centered about the central support, a rigid circular balance platform whose center is fixed to the ball joint on its lower surface, and a pump connected to the inflatable elastic toroidal bladder.
Bench for performing hip extensions with a bar
The invention relates to a bench, which is designed for performing hip extensions in such a way as to prevent damage to the back of the user, and can be adapted to different sizes. To this end, the bench consists of an H-shaped frame having a middle beam (7) that is slightly shorter than the distance established between the disks (6) of the bar (5) to be lifted, and on which a back rest or seat (14) is provided, comprising height-regulating means, characterized in that the height of the side beams is such that the bar (5) can be rolled over the surface of the beams above the stretched-out body of the user, while the large disks are flush with the ground so as not to limit the range of movement.
