An apparatus to quickly position a start assist device for backstroke swimmers and remove said start assist device once the apparatus detects or is signaled that the swimmer has left to prevent injuries and obstructions caused by the start assist device. A mechanical embodiment of such an apparatus and a motorized embodiment of such an apparatus with a data input system to position the start assist device according to the individual swimmers needs and means to signal the start event are disclosed.

The connector module allows other pool noodle ends having a similar barb mount mounted thereto to be attached to the connector module. The barb mount includes a hollow body having an engagement section and a locking section which are separated by a stop flange. The engagement section is adapted for insertion into the central cavity of a pool noodle, at one end of the pool noodle. The locking section is shaped for locking onto a connector module or an accessory module. The locking section includes locking tabs. Each connector module includes a hollow body with open end connection portions. Each connection portion includes at least two lock apertures shaped to receive opposing locking tabs of the barb mount.

A resistance kickboard attachment is disclosed. When attached to a kickboard, the resistance kickboard attachment adds resistance while swimming with the kickboard. The resistance kickboard attachment includes a resistance pocket, with variable resistance provided by an adjustment of a rear aperture of the resistance pocket. The resistance kickboard attachment attaches to the kickboard with a transverse and a longitudinal strap. The transverse strap includes an adjustment on either side of the longitudinal strap which allows the longitudinal strap to be centered on the kickboard.

A swimming aid being configured to increase a user's buoyancy in the water. The swimming aid has a supporting structure with a back float. The supporting structure is designed to secure the swimming aid to a user's upper body. The back float is tiltableseen in useabout a transverse axis connected to the supporting structure. The tilting movement of the back float to the supporting structure enables the user to obtain an inclined, more vertical posture in the water, which will improve the user's ability to keep their head above the surface of the water and also intuitively encourages the user to stretch out their hands to make a supportive movement with the hands in the water. Thus, the swimming aid increases water safety and at the same time promotes swimming skills.
