GOLF BALL

The invention provides a golf ball that is a one-piece golf ball or a golf ball having a core and a cover of one layer or a plurality of layers, wherein the one-piece golf ball or core is formed of a material molded under heat from a rubber composition containing: (A) a base rubber, (B) an organic peroxide, (C) water, (D) a metal methacrylate and (E) zinc oxide.

The content of component (D) per 100 parts by weight of component (A) is from 30 to 45 parts by weight. The molar ratio (C)/(D) between components (C) and (D) satisfies the formula

0.9<(C)/(D)<1.1.

The core has an initial velocity V.sub.0 of at least 72.0 m/s and up to 75.0 m/s.

Dimple patterns with surface texture for golf balls

The present invention provides a golf ball having an outer surface comprising a plurality of dimples covering greater than 70 percent of the outer surface, wherein at least 20 percent of the dimples incorporate directional surface texturing therein. The directional surface texturing preferably comprises substantially parallel channels or protrusions formed within the dimples.

A light-emitting golf ball using a small generator includes a core that is a center point of the golf ball; an inner shell formed to surround the core; an outer shell formed to surround an outer surface of the inner shell and struck by a golf club; a generator positioned on one side of the inner shell and generating a current based on a rotational force caused by a stroke; and a light emitting portion located on one side of the inner shell and providing light so that the golf ball emits light based on the generated current. According to the present disclosure, the golf ball emits light, and thus it is easy to track a trajectory of the golf ball. In addition, it is possible to more easily determine the trajectory and position of the golf ball when the day is cloudy or enters the night.

GOLF BALL

In a golf ball having a core and a cover of one or more layer, the core is formed of a material molded under heat from a rubber composition containing (a) a base rubber, (b) water and/or a lower alcohol having a specific molecular weight, (c) an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or a metal salt thereof, and (d) an organic peroxide.

The base rubber (a) is a rubber obtained by mixing together (a-1) a polybutadiene and (a-2) an unneutralized ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer, and subsequently neutralizing the copolymer with (a-3) a metal oxide. Component (a-2) has a specific acid content and accounts for a specific portion of the combined amount of components (a-1) and (a-2). The core surface and center have a specific JIS-C hardness difference therebetween.

This ball achieves both a lower spin rate and excellent durability while maintaining a high rebound.

A golf ball of one aspect of the present invention includes a spherical core, one or more cover members to cover the core, and a coating layer to coat a cover member configuring an outermost layer of the one or more cover members. A plurality of dimples is formed in the cover member of the outermost layer. Roughness is produced on a surface of the coating layer after applying a coat over the cover member of the outermost layer. An average value Fa (mm) of maximum depths of the plurality of dimples and arithmetic average roughness Ra (μm) on the surface of the coating layer, satisfy a relational expression:
−1.5×Fa+0.8≦Ra≦−1.5×Fa+1.8.

Golf ball

An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball showing excellent shot feeling and stain resistance. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a golf ball body and a paint film formed on a surface of the golf ball body, wherein a base resin constituting the paint film includes a polyurethane obtained by a reaction between a polyol composition and a polyisocyanate composition, a molar ratio (NCO/OH) of an isocyanate group (NCO group) in the polyisocyanate composition to a hydroxyl group (OH group) in the polyol composition is 0.6 or more, and the paint film has an elastic modulus of 300 MPa or less.

Multi-layer golf ball

Multi-layer golf balls comprising a single- or dual-layer core, an intermediate layer, and an outer cover layer are disclosed. The intermediate layer is formed from a thermoplastic elastomer composition and has a surface hardness which is greater than the center hardness of the core and less than the outer surface hardness of the core. The outer surface hardness of the outer cover layer is greater than the outer surface hardness of the core.
