Method of relieving stress from face plate welds of a golf club head
The present disclosure relates to methods for forming a golf club head assembly comprising a golf club head body and a high strength faceplate. The high strength faceplate can be heat treated. After welding the faceplate to the club head body, vibrational waves can be used to relive stress in the weld heat affected zones of the golf club body and faceplate.
Golf shaft system and golf shaft
A golf club shaft system and golf club shaft possessing unique flexural and torsional rigidity profiles, while providing significant adjustability to fine tune the shaft to a particular golf swing.
Golf club head with adjustable sole weight
A golf club head with an adjustable weight assembly that includes a pair of stacked, rotatable circular plates with through-slots and a slidable weight that can move within the slots and clamp the plates together so that they are reversibly fixed to a body portion is disclosed herein. The plates are preferably composed of a lightweight material such as composite, and are located on the sole so that the weight assembly is visible to a user. The plate and slidable weight combination and allows for an increased range of personal performance customization by way of adjustability and interchangeability without using up available discretionary mass in the golf club head.
Balance point alignment for golf shafts and golf clubs
A shaft for a golf club includes a first end, a second end, and a demarcation. The first end is adapted to attach to a club head. The second end is adapted to receive a grip distal to the first end. The demarcation is positioned at or adjacent to the balance point of the golf club between the first end and the second end.
Adjustable sole weight of a golf club head
A golf club head includes a body having a heel portion, a toe portion, a sole portion, and an outer surface, a strikeface having a geometric center, a head center of gravity, and a weight member including a weight pad. The weight member is configured to be repositionable by the user to a first position or a second position. The club head having the weight member in the first position shifts the head center of gravity toward the strikeface, and the club head having the weight member in the second position shifts the head center of gravity away from the strikeface.
GOLF PUTTER GRIP WITH INTEGRATED GREEN READING AND ALIGNMENT SYSTEM AND GOLF PUTTER INCORPORATING SAME
A golf putter grip includes a main body with a generally rounded diamond cross sectional shape and having and integrated green reading and alignment system, wherein the integrated green reading and alignment system includes two break measurement lines, each break measurement line on one side of the grip and configured to assist the golfer in gauging the angle of the flag, and wherein the integrated green reading and alignment system includes at least two alignment lines on a top of the grip and associated with the two break measurement lines and configured to assist in adjusting a club head face of an associated putter based upon the gauged angle of the flag. A golf putter implementing the golf putter grip with a conventional shaft and head with club face is disclosed.
Golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads
Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion having an interior cavity, a toe portion, a heel portion, a front portion, a back portion, a top portion, and a sole portion. The body portion may include a ledge portion that extends from an upper back wall portion to a lower back wall portion of the back portion. The golf club head may include a face portion coupled to the front portion to close the interior cavity, a port on the body portion, a polymer material in the interior cavity, and a mass portion. A width of the ledge portion may be greater than a width of the body portion above a horizontal midplane of the body portion. A distance between a portion of the polymer material in the interior cavity and the face portion at a location vertically above the mass portion and below the ledge portion may be greater than a distance between the mass portion and the face portion. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.
Golf club head
Golf club heads including a striking face with a variable thickness, a shell including a crown, and an internal weight pad located on a lower portion of the shell. The center of gravity depths of at least two golf club heads in a set satisfy the equation: D=a−b*LA, with 19 mm<a<22 mm and b=0.36 mm/degrees, and the at least two golf club heads have a difference in loft angle LA of at least 5 degrees. A moment of inertia about a vertical axis through the center of gravity of each of the at least two golf club heads is at least 2900 g*cm.sup.2. In one aspect, a striking face has a center region having a first thickness T1, an intermediate region having a second thickness T2, and a perimeter region having a third thickness T3, with T2<T1<T3.
Golf Club
A putter with a putter head that has a rear hollow cavity enclosed within the putter head body to help move the center of gravity forward and a shaft axis that intersects the center of gravity of the putter head within a predetermined range is disclosed. The putter head may have a heel counterweight to move the center of the gravity of the putter head to the desired direction. The hollow cavity in the putter head may extend from a heel region to the toe region of the putter head. In some examples, the hollow cavity may comprise a plurality of hollow cavities or may be a single cavity located in the heel region or the toe region.
Golf club
A golf club includes a club head having a volume of greater than about 360 cm.sup.3 and a mass less than 200 g. A shaft attachable to the club head has a tip end, a butt end, and a shaft balance point distance, BP.sub.s, as measured from the butt end, of no more than 19 inches. And the golf club has a mass less than 300 g.
