Walk therapy station
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a walking therapy station having multiple right linkages and multiple left linkages, where at least one of the right or left linkages is operably coupled to an actuator to transition the station from a standing mode to a walking mode. In an illustrative example, the station may have five right linkages and five left linkages, with a set of knee pads and foot pads. The station may include an actuator operably coupled to transition the station between walking and standing modes, for example. Various embodiments of the station may enable a user who is disabled or paralyzed to transition from sitting position, to a standing position, and then to a walking position, and provide the user with a very accurate gait and walking motion without putting excessive shear and pressure at the contact points between the station and the user.
STRETCHING DEVICE AND METHOD
The present invention provides a device for performing stretching exercises for alleviation of pain, the device including a main pole comprising a right stick and left stick and an upper telescopic pipe and a lower telescopic pipe disposed therebetween, a stretching pole with an attached holding stick disposed generally perpendicularly to an upper end thereof and a leaning stick disposed generally perpendicularly to the main pole at an upper end thereof, wherein the main pole is connected to the stretching pole via a hinge.
Mouthguard with selective flavor components
A composite flavored mouthguard comprising a mouthguard base including a first material; an elastomeric frame including a second material; and a liner including a third material, wherein at least one of the first material, the second material, or the third material includes a flavorant and at least one of the first material, the second material, or the third material independently includes a flavorant that provides sweetness.
Device for controlling the training and the therapeutic treatment and/or for supporting the lower extremities of a human
A device for the therapeutic treatment and/or training of the lower extremities of a human having driven and controlled movement devices, which are connected to a stationary frame and include holding members for fastening of one extremity. The holding members can be moved independently of one another along walking trajectories. The movement devices each include a pivot arm pivotable into different elevations, and the pivot arm is rotatably connected to one single sled on a linear track. A first rotational drive is attached to a single sled and is connected to the pivot arm for changing the elevation of the respective holding member. The pivot arm includes a second rotational drive for changing the inclination of the respective holding member and the sled is connected to a linear drive for changing the longitudinal position of the respective holding member.
Training and rehabilitation device
A device for training and rehabilitation of a limb is provided. The device provides a board with a plurality of movement tracks to allow for controlled movement of the limb in various directions. Blockers and other controlling structures may be arranged on the device to limit range of motion of the movement of the limb.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE APPARATUS
A myofascial release apparatus can include a head member and a shaft configured to couple to the head member and to releasably mount the head member to a weightlifting rack. This can be accomplished, for example, by threading the shaft of the apparatus through apertures on a support member of the weightlifting rack and placing a securing member or securing loop on the shaft to prevent the shaft from retreating through the support member during use. The apparatus can be included in a kit having one or more of the following additional components: a washer, a magnet, collars, two or more additional head members, or a handle. The head members can be any suitable shape, including a blunt nub head, a precision nub head, and/or a broad nub head.
SYSTEMS FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY CONTRACTING BODY CORE MUSCLES AND A COMPUTERISED INSTRUCTIONAL UNIT FOR FACILITATING SAME
An exercise apparatus for exercising muscles of a user comprising a main body, an abdominal crunch exercise member pivotally attached to the main body, the abdominal crunch member configured to engage an upper body area of a user, an abdominal contact member attached to the main body, the abdominal contact member configured to engage an abdominal area of user; and an electronic vibration unit capable of causing a portion of the apparatus to vibrate.
MUSCLE STIMULATION DEVICE
A vibration apparatus and an associated motor assembly attached to a glove or wrap for a body part to stimulate muscle activity in the area of application. The apparatus is capable of generating vibrations of various amplitudes at the same frequency or within a defined frequency range. The device causes vibration in a limb to which it is attached, such that muscle that are not normally utilized in a single range of motion activity are activated. The mechanism creating the vibration may an eccentric rotating mass vibration motor assembly attached to a glove or wrist support. Use of the device with fitness equipment provides an individual with the benefits associated with vibrational motion such as increased muscle use with a single exercise motion and increased muscle memory during use with sports activities.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXERTING A GRADIENT OF COMPRESSIVE FORCES ON A BODY
A system and a method for applying a gradient of external compressive forces on the body of a person, in a manner analogous to how water exerts hydrostatic forces on the body of person immersed in water. The system may be a chair or a suit, comprising at least one of the following: one compression unit holding fluid around the person to exert a gradient of hydrostatic forces, at least one rigid or semi-rigid frame or a shell supporting the body and the compression units to support the pressure and off-loaded weight of the person and transfer the weight to an external support such as floor. Additionally, the system may contain additional means to reduce the frictional forces on the body surface and between various moving parts, and a means to modify pressure on the body of the person. The system and method is applicable for effecting physiological changes in the body such as increased diuresis and/or amniotic fluid levels, treat preeclampsia in pregnant women, reduce hypertension, shift fluids from interstitial space into intravascular compartment, increase venous return from lower extremities, reduce sympathetic tone and total peripheral resistance, reduce work load on the heart, reduce motion sickness and the like.
Integrated platform to monitor and analyze individual progress in physical and cognitive tasks
Described is a system for online characterization of biomechanical and cognitive factors relevant to physical rehabilitation and training efforts. A biosensing subsystem senses biomechanical states of a user based on the output of sensors and generates a set of biomechanical data. The set of biomechanical data is transmitted in real-time to an analytics subsystem. The set of biomechanical data is analyzed by the analytics subsystem, and control guidance is sent through a real-time control interface to adjust the user's motions. In one aspect control guidance is sent to a robotic exoskeleton worn by the user to adjust the user's motions.
