The invention relates to a system and method for determining a status of plants. The system includes a light transmitter arranged for providing broad band illumination to one or more plants. The system includes a light receiver including a plurality of receiver channels, the receiver channels arranged for receiving light from said one or more plants in mutually different wavelength bands. The system includes a processing unit arranged for determining a status of said one or more plants on the basis of light received by the plurality of receiver channels. The transmitter may be arranged for transmitting bursts of modulated light.

INSPECTION SYSTEM FOR USE IN MONITORING PLANTS IN PLANT GROWTH AREAS
An inspection system is presented for use in monitoring plants' conditions in a plant growing area. The inspection system comprises: an optical probe comprising at least one imaging set, each imaging set comprising: a flash illuminator unit; an imaging unit configured with a predetermined resolution; and a sensing unit; the optical probe being configured and operable to perform one or more imaging sessions on a target in a plant growing area at a target location during a movement of the optical probe along a movement path in a vicinity of the target location, said sensing unit comprising a distance sensing element configured and operable to determine an instantaneous distance between the imaging unit and the target being imaged, and generate distance sensing data indicative thereof; and a control unit configured and operable to be responsive to the distance sensing data to initiate the imaging session and synchronize operation of the flash illuminator unit and the imaging unit to capture images of the target by the optical probe, thereby enabling analyzing the images and determining a condition of the target being indicative of at least one of pest, insect and disease presence at the target.
INSPECTION SYSTEM FOR USE IN MONITORING PLANTS IN PLANT GROWTH AREAS
An inspection system is presented for use in monitoring plants' conditions in a plant growing area. An intelligent cultivation apparatus includes a sensor, configured to measure plants cultivation environment parameter data; a controller, configured to generate plants cultivation status information based at least on the measured plants cultivation environment parameter data; and a cultivation suggestion generator, configured to generate a targeted cultivation suggestion based at least on a plants cultivation database and the plants cultivation status information. The intelligent cultivation apparatus further includes a camera configured for capturing images of the plants, wherein the cultivation suggestion generator generates the targeted cultivation suggestion based on the images of the plants, the plants cultivation database and the plants cultivation status information. The cultivation suggestion generator further configured to combine the targeted cultivation suggestion with the plants cultivation status information, for adjusting calculating parameters of the cultivation suggestion generator and updating the plants cultivation database.

A scent imparting apparatus transmits to an information management apparatus, product information that includes added-substance information indicating a first substance that is a scented substance added to a plant and production information regarding the plant. The information management apparatus stores the received product information in a production information storage unit. A scent detecting apparatus detects a second substance that is at least one of the scented substance or a metabolite of the scented substance released from a target plant, and transmits detected-substance information indicating the second substance to the information management apparatus. The information management apparatus transmits to the scent detecting apparatus, in a case where the second substance indicated by the received detected-substance information is the same as the first substance indicated by the added-substance information included in the product information stored in the production information storage unit or is the same as a metabolite of the first substance, the production information included in the product information stored in the production information storage unit. The scent detecting apparatus presents the received production information.
