Systems And Methods For Assessing Crop Damaging Factors Associated With Agronomic Fields
20240119542 · 2024-04-11 ·

Systems and methods are provided for use in assessing disease threat in a field. An example computer-implemented method includes accessing weather data for a field where the field includes a crop and the weather data includes a weather condition for the field during a time period and identifying multiple intervals within the time period as threat intervals, based on the weather condition of the field during each of the multiple intervals being with a first range. The method also includes aggregating the multiple threat intervals into a damaging factor, based, in part, on ones of the multiple intervals being consecutive intervals during the time period, and comparing the damaging factor to a threat threshold. The method then includes, in response to the damaging factor satisfying the threat threshold, generating and transmitting, by the computing device, an output indicative of the damaging factor.

Disclosed is a system having a base and a screened enclosure for disposition on the ground for growing plants. The base forms a hollow enclosure into which a growing medium can be disposed. The screened enclosure is mounted on the base and is in the form of a plurality of elongated frame members, plural upper screen members and plural lower screen members. Each of the screen members has an opposed pair of side edges, a top edge and a bottom edge. The frame members extend upward from the base and are spaced apart from one another. Each of the frame members includes a first respective section arranged to slidably receive a respective side of a respective lower screen member therein and a second respective section arranged to slidably receive a respective side of a respective upper screen member therein. Each of the upper and lower screen members are arranged to be individually removed from their respective sections of their associated frame members to enable each of the screen members to be individually removed from the frame members.

A soil-covering film (10), which contains an air and moisture-permeable sheet, preferably a nonwoven sheet, containing biodegradable and/or compostable fibre (12) and, optionally, binding material (14), where the binding force between the fibres reversibly weakens due to the effect of moisture.

A method for protecting crops (20) against weeds (30), by a soil-covering film (10): where the soil-covering film (10) is laid out on surface of the soil (40); the seeds (22) of the crop (20) are placed on the soil-covering film (10); the soil-covering film (10) is kept moist until the seeds (22) located on the surface grow roots (24) and the roots (24) penetrate the soil-covering film (10).

METHOD TO STIMULATE TREE SAP SELF-EJECTION FROM A TREE
20190281772 · 2019-09-19 ·

A method to stimulate tree sap self-ejection from a tree through a plurality of spouts by wrapping a tree with a metal liner and a flexible tube, adding an insulation shell then heating or chilling a portion of a tree trunk by flowing heated or chilled a freeze resistant fluid through the flexible tube. At least one fluid pump, heat exchanger and controller are used to modulate temperature based on forest information and weather historical information to create a more efficient sap collection and processing method.

Devices and methods for attaching objects to living trees. Various forms of the devices employ a flexible member and mounting member that are configured to be looped and secured around a tree portion at a beginning of a predetermined time period. The mounting member and flexible member are configured to slide relative to each other to accommodate growth of the tree portion such that the device remains secured to the tree portion for at least the duration of the predetermined period of time without the need for human intervention. In other embodiments, the mounting member is integrally formed with the object or no mounting member is employed.
