Composition for growing fine fescue lawns to deter deer, geese and other animals that transmit diseases, including Lyme disease, via ticks and droppings
09992936 · 2018-06-12 ·

A seed composition for growing grasses to deter geese, deer and other animals transmitting diseases like Lyme disease through ticks and droppings. The composition includes: (a) about 20-50% by weight Hard Fescue; (b) about 20-50% by weight Creeping Red Fescue; and (c) about 20-50% by weight Chewings Fescue. Optionally, it may further include up to 20% of a high endophytic tall fescue, high endophytic ryegrass or combinations thereof. The resulting grasses require little to no regular mowing.

Method to Use a Colored Photoluminescent Composition in Agricultural Applications

The inventive subject matter provides a method for the incorporation of colored photoluminescent materials to be sprayed on to plants and soils. The incorporation of colored photoluminescent materials assists the spray operator through the use of black lights allowing for more precise low light or nighttime spray and seeding operations. More specifically, this invention relates to a colored photoluminescent adjuvant to be applied to targeted crops, plants and seeds to assist in the low light or nighttime application of bioactive agents, such as chemicals and pesticides. The colored photoluminescent adjuvant can be applied as a solution or a foam.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING TURF PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
20170363551 · 2017-12-21 ·

System and method for quantifying qualitative turf conditions as they relate to turf performance and health. In an embodiment, data is collected about turf condition using a turf analysis device. The data collected aboute the conditions may be used to generate condition-based turf stress indexes that may be used to genasrte an overall a Turf Performance Indicator (TPI). Such collections are calculated through a unique quantitative mathematical equation resulting in a measurable quotient that is used to assess overall turf performance qualities on a relative scale over time. Using an integrated Global Positioning System (GPS), the TPI measurements can be used to identify overall property conditions and zone specific conditions within that property. Such analysis is viewed with visual analysis methods using a cloud based system.

System for rapid, robust, and efficient in vitro mass propagation of Miscanthus x giganteus

The present invention provides a longitudinally split immature tiller separated from a rhizome (LSITR), a cluster of multiple in vitro shoots (CMIT), a cluster of stem segments containing shoot primordia (CSSSP) and an in vitro tiller of Miscanthus x giganteus (Giant miscanthus), and their uses in propagating Miscanthus x giganteus (Giant miscanthus).

LIGHTING APPARATUS FOR RAISING NATURAL LAWN GRASS

A movable lighting apparatus for raising natural lawn grass includes a frame, main support legs supporting the frame, and casters attached to the lower ends of the main support legs. A movable beam is provided such that it can be advanced and retracted relative to the frame in a left-right direction. A stationary beam is fixed to the frame. A sub-support leg is provided at an advancement direction forward end portion of the movable beam so as to support a distal end of the movable beam when the movable beam is advanced. A caster is attached to the lower end of the sub-support leg. LED lamps are attached to the movable beam and the stationary beam. When the movable beam is retracted, the lower end of the caster of the sub-support leg is moved to a position above the lower ends of the casters of the main support legs.

Method for planting beneath solar panels blends containing mostly fine fescue mixtures

A seed composition suitable for planting beneath and around one or more solar panel arrays, said seed composition consisting mostly of a blend of fine fescues that results in under panel grass growth requiring little to no regular mowing. One preferred version includes: (a) about 20-50% by weight Hard Fescue; (b) about 20-50% by weight Creeping Red Fescue; and (c) about 20-50% by weight Chewings Fescue.

METHOD FOR APPLICATION OF BIOCHAR IN TURF GRASS AND LANDSCAPING ENVIRONMENTS

The present invention relates to a method for applying biochar to turf and landscape to allow the turf and landscape to be effectively maintained under reduced water and/or reduced fertilizer applications.

Methods for enhancing root strength and safety of turf grass

Methods are provided for enhancing the health, growth and/or sturdiness of turf grasses by applying a combination of microbes and/or their growth by-products to the turf grass roots and/or to soil. Specifically, in one embodiment, the subject invention utilizes Trichoderma harzianum and a strain of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. The methods can further be used to improve maintenance and upkeep of natural turf grass fields used in, for example, athletics and recreation, as well as to increase the functionality and safety of these natural turf grass fields.
