Separation system
A separator system (1) and method for separating a mixture including said one or more liquids or semi-liquids and a loose, solid material substantially into liquid and solid phases. The system includes the components of: a compression separator (100) for separating the liquid from the solid material by compression; a vacuum supply (200) for generating suction to draw mixture into the separator via a feed line. The liquids are captured in a collection tank (301) and the solids in a hopper (320).

Method for dewatering and demineralization of fine particles
Hydrophobic particles such as coal and hydrophobized mineral fines can be readily separated from hydrophilic impurities by forming agglomerates in water using a hydrophobic liquids such as oil. The agglomerates of hydrophobic particles usually entrap large amounts of water, causing the moisture of the recovered hydrophobic particles to be excessively high. This problem can be overcome by dispersing the hydrophobic agglomerates in a hydrophobic liquid that can be readily recycled. The dispersion can be achieved using specially designed apparatus and methods that can create a turbulence that can help destabilize the agglomerates in a recyclable hydrophobic liquid and facilitate the dispersion.

ABSORBENT PAD FOR LEAK MITIGATION
A leak mitigation system for a fluid-cooled computing device includes an absorbent pad having a fluid sensor connected to an absorbent material. The absorbent pad is placed in a position relative to the fluid-cooled computing device to collect fluid from the cooling system. The sensor detects the presence of a fluid absorbed by the absorbent material and the leak mitigation system implements a leak mitigation protocol to prevent or reduce damage to the computing device.

METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR WASHING A CRUDE LIGNIN, A SOLUBLE CARBOHYDRATE CONTAINING FRACTION, A SOLID FRACTION AND THEIR USE
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for washing a crude lignin slurry (5) formed from plant based raw material, wherein the method comprises separating a soluble carbohydrate containing fraction (10) from the crude lignin slurry (5) by using displacement washing in at least one solid-liquid separation stage (6) so that the crude lignin slurry is prepressed, washed and pressed, and recovering a solid fraction (11) and the soluble carbohydrate containing fraction (10). Further, the invention relates to the soluble carbohydrate containing fraction and the solid fraction, and their uses.
