ARRANGEMENT IN BOOM SYSTEM
An arrangement in a boom system, specifically in a forest machine, includes at least two interlinked boom parts and at least one power transmission connected to the boom parts for moving the boom parts in relation to each other and the environment. The boom part includes an elongated body with a hollow structure and at least one set of joints intersected by turning axles for attaching the boom part to an adjacent structure, and at least one set of attachments for attaching an actuator controlling the boom system to the body, whereby at least one boom part is formed as a uniform, hollow piece made of fluid material. The cross-section of the body is made to cinch toward the midpoint of the body.

An arrangement and method are provided for enabling rotation movement between a tandem or caterpillar axle and a body of a vehicle. This type of vehicle includes at least one body part that is provided with a tandem or caterpillar axle. At least one body part includes a main body and an auxiliary body connected to it to rotate around the longitudinal axis of the vehicle or an essentially parallel axis thereto. The tandem or caterpillar axle is connected substantially rigidly to the main body, and the body part has at least one actuator for controlling the rotation movement between the main body and auxiliary body. In this way, changes in the position and motion status of the auxiliary body, especially in relation to the rotation around the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, are arranged to cause in the actuator a pushing or pulling motion that steers the auxiliary body to a rotation movement for the purpose of arranging the auxiliary body to a substantially horizontal position.

The invention relates to a method in a forest machine. In the method the surroundings of the forest machine are observed using one or more sensors. The observations are assembled to form a database of the surroundings, and the database is utilized in the operation of the forest machine. In the method observations of a limited area are used. In addition, a database is formed in real time in the forest machine. Further, a view is formed from the database of selected observations, from which a track in the surroundings is recognized. The forest machine is then oriented in the direction of the track, once the forest machine's direction of travel relative to the recognized track has been recognized. The invention also relates to a system in a forest machine.
