The invention relates to a clearing apparatus (I), especially for clearing and/or maintaining of filter basins (7), consisting of at least one carrier (1), at least one undercarriage (2), at least one removal device (3), at least one driving device (4) and at least one pushing or guiding device (10), wherein the removal device (3) is situated in the front and/or before the undercarriage (2) and/or in front of an axle (21) of the undercarriage (2) in the travel and/or removal direction (a), the pushing or guiding device (10) is provided at the rear in the travel and/or removal direction (a), and wherein the removal device (3) comprises a platform (32) on which a drivable or driven removal means is circulating, such as a drivable or driven flexible circulating chain (31) and/or a flexible circulating belt (31), in order to remove material from a bottom (71) of the filter basin (7), transport it away and/or dispose of it.

A capture unit for use with an antimicrobial application unit may include an upstream filter and a downstream filter. The upstream filter may be positioned to receive effluent from the application unit and to filter solid components from the effluent. The resultant upstream effluent filtrate may then be passed downstream to the downstream filter. The downstream filter may be used to filter an antimicrobial component from the upstream effluent filtrate and the resultant downstream effluent filtrate may be suitable for disposal as wastewater discharge. The antimicrobial is preferably a quaternary ammonium compound, is more preferably an alkylpyridinium chloride, and is most preferably cetylpyridinium chloride.

Up-Flow Water Filtration System

The present up-flow water filtration system is made up of three or more layers. In the example of three layers, each layer is individually rigid and capable of supporting loads above it, and each serves a separate function. These layers include the inlet layer on the bottom of the system, the outlet layer at the top of the system, and the central layer in between which contains the filter media. Additionally, the system includes one or more vertical ports that are open above ground and that extend into the central layer and provide access to the central media containment layer for maintenance. There are also several layers of textiles which form the flexible outer casing, as well as internal membranes to separate the different layers and components of the system. Some systems may include inlet and outlet pipes, but other inlet and outlet configurations are possible.

The hose barb body has a tapered portion that is configured to receive at least a portion of the drain body therein, and a cylindrical portion that extends from the tapered portion. The cylindrical portion is configured to allow selective coupling of a hose thereon. A retaining collar is disposed about the central axis and has a shoulder that is configured to bear the hose barb body thereon. Multiple resilient tabs upstanding from the shoulder have ends laterally extending away from the central axis for engaging with the retaining cap.

The seal is configured to create friction with the sidewall, wherein the friction created when the floatable body rises in the sleeve is different than when the floatable body lowers in the sleeve. The friction created when the floatable body rises in the sleeve is greater than when the floatable body lowers in the sleeve, allowing the floatable body to auto-retract toward a cavity base without burping.

Filter systems disclosed herein collapse for storage purposes and include mechanisms to continuously fill an upper chamber, allowing it to be smaller and to include more filters. A UVC light in a lower chamber sanitizes water entering therein. Water entering the lower chamber may pass through a quartz tube near the UVC light for sufficient exposure. The UVC light may be cycled between shorter periods of higher intensity and longer periods of lower intensity. A low power source such as a small solar array and/or battery may power the UVC light. A proximity switch may control the UVC light by providing power to the light only when the upper chamber is engaged with the lower chamber which may protect the user from exposure to the UVC light. Sealing mechanisms between the upper and lower chambers, as well as tote mechanisms and an alternative bucket filter system are disclosed.
