LIQUID FILTER ARRANGEMENT AND METHODS
A filter cartridge includes a threaded sleeve having a seal holder recess and seal member. The filter cartridge is for removably threading onto a filter head that includes threads for connection to the filter cartridge by way of the threaded sleeve. The filter head includes a ramp that engages the seal member to form a seal. The force needed to make the seal is a torque of less than 10 N-m.
Disposable sheath for oil filter removal and containment
A disposable oil filter containment sheath is provided for use during oil changes for combustion engines. The sheath has a closed bottom, a cylindrical sidewall, and an open top. The resilient sheath is rolled to an initial collapsed position for placement on the bottom of an oil filter mounted on the engine, and it is partially unrolled along the filter. The filter can then be loosened to allow oil to drain into the sheath for capturing a reservoir. After the filter is removed from the engine, the sheath is completely unrolled and tied at the top so as to fully enclose and contain the oil filter and oil. The sheath and its contents are then ready for disposal.
AUTOMOTIVE OIL-FILTER ASSEMBLY HAVING UNDER-MOUNTED RADIATOR AND MADE FROM ALUMINUM BY DIE CASTING
An automotive oil-filter assembly includes a main body made from aluminum by high-pressure die casting, where a filter element mounting base and a radiator mounting position are arranged on the main body; a filter element is inserted into the filter element mounting base, and a radiator is mounted at the radiator mounting position; a main body cap is mounted on the filter element mounting base; a bypass valve is arranged at an end, adjacent to the main body cap, of the filter element and communicates with the filter element; an oil inlet of the main body is located at one end of the main body and communicates with the filter element mounting base; and an oil inlet of the radiator, an oil outlet of the radiator, a coolant inlet of the radiator, and a coolant outlet of the radiator are located at the radiator mounting position.
FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM COMPRISING A SEPARATE FILTER MODULE
A fluid delivery system for supplying fluid to at least one machine assembly, in particular an engine and/or transmission of a motor vehicle, including: a first pump and a second pump; a drive for driving the first pump and/or the second pump; a reservoir for storing the fluid; and a filter module for filtering the fluid, wherein the first pump delivers fluid from the reservoir to the machine assembly in a supply flow and the second pump is arranged downstream of the machine assembly and delivers at least some of the fluid into the reservoir in a sub-flow downstream of the machine assembly and the filter module is embodied in the sub-flow.
Filter and method for filtering a liquid
An oil filter assembly is disclosed for a machine, such as an internal combustion engine, that has an oil output port and an oil input port. A mounting plate is fixed with an outer enclosure. The mounting plate is further adapted to conduct oil from the machine into a peripheral portion of the outer enclosure, and then returning oil from a central portion of the outer enclosure back to the machine. Oil may pass from the peripheral portion to the central portion through a primary filter having a first porosity. A pressure-actuated valve is fixed fluidly between the portions of the outer enclosure.
ELECTRONIC FILTER DETECTION FEATURE FOR LIQUID FILTRATION SYSTEMS
A filter monitor system (“FMS”) module is installed on the engine/vehicle and is connected to the filter systems, sensors and devices to monitor various performance parameters. The module also connects to the engine control module (“ECM”) and draws parameters from the ECM. The FMS module is capable of interfacing with various output devices such as a smartphone application, a display monitor, an OEM telematics system or a service technician's tool on a computer. The FMS module consists of hardware and software algorithms which constantly monitor filter systems and provide information to the end-user. FMS module provides necessary inputs and outputs for electronic sensors and devices.
FUEL HEATING APPARATUS AND METHODS
A fuel heating apparatus including a heat exchanger body having a first removable end plate, a main body, and a second removable end plate opposite the first removable end plate. The first and second removable end plates are secured to opposing sides of the heat exchanger main body by a plurality of threaded fasteners. The first removable end plate includes a fuel inlet line and a thermal fluid inlet line, and the second removable end plate includes a fuel outlet line and a thermal fluid outlet line. The main body includes a plurality of interior first fluid pathways and a plurality of interior thermal fluid pathways defined therein, the interior first fluid pathways being responsible for connecting the fuel inlet line to the fuel outlet line and the interior thermal fluid pathways being responsible for connecting the thermal fluid inlet line to the thermal fluid outlet line.
HYDROCARBON ABSORBING FILTER
A hydrocarbon absorbing cone filter for an air intake system may include a generally truncated cone shaped media filter and an internal hydrocarbon absorbing element therein. The hydrocarbon absorbing element may absorb hydrocarbons at the clean air side of an air stream flowing through the media filter and into a combustion engine system.
