In some embodiments, a system for pre-wetting a filter includes a filter, a piping system, a first gas, a second gas, a first buffer tank, and a second buffer tank. The first gas drives the solvent to clean the filter. The two buffer tanks store the solvent discharged from the filter. The second gas selectively drives the solvent in the first buffer tank to return to the filter and then to be discharged into the second buffer tank. Alternatively, the second gas selectively drives the solvent in the second buffer tank to return to the filter and then to be discharged into the first buffer tank.

A water drain valve system structured to drain water from a fuel-water separator. The system includes a collection vessel structured to temporarily store water, a liquid level sensor structured to monitor a level of the temporarily stored water, a drainage port extending radially from the collection vessel and having a port inlet and a port outlet, and a valve assembly. The port inlet receives water to be drained from the collection vessel, the water flowing through the drainage port and exiting through the port outlet. The valve assembly is movable between a closed position in which the port outlet is closed, and an open position, in which the port outlet is open, to selectively allow water to be drained from the collection vessel. The valve assembly includes a solenoid coupled to a seal member, the seal member closing the port outlet in the closed position of the valve assembly.

An energy-storage arrangement for, e.g., an electric or hybrid vehicle includes an energy-storage device including energy-storage cells arranged in a housing. The housing includes an inlet and an outlet for a temperature-control fluid, that may provide for direct temperature control of the energy-storage cells in the housing. The energy-storage arrangement further includes a temperature-control-fluid circuit, in which the housing, a pump for conveying the temperature-control fluid, and a heat-transfer device are arranged. A water-separator for separating or discharging water from the temperature-control fluid may be provided in the temperature-control-fluid circuit.
Fuel water separator filter with an improved sealing arrangement
A fuel water separator filter is configured as a filter-in-filter construction with multiple water separating layers to separate water from the fuel. The fuel water separator filter is configured for use on a suction side of a fuel pump, and includes a neck with a radially outward facing seal that in use seals with the filter housing. The filter housing is formed with an isolated water sump that in use is isolated from water that is stripped from the fuel by the first stage of the outer filter.

The biological filtration system for filtering a solution in a bioreactor, comprises: a filter device having a top end and a bottom end, one of the top end and the bottom end being in fluid communication with the bioreactor for filtering the solution in the bioreactor; a liquid chamber in fluid communication with the other one of the top end and the bottom end for storing a solution in the filter device; a positive pressure pump, in fluid communication with the liquid chamber, for driving a solution to flow from the liquid chamber to the bioreactor; and a negative pressure pump, in fluid communication with the liquid chamber, for driving a solution to flow from the bioreactor to the liquid chamber.
