Provided is a process of stabilizing active ingredients of plant materials in an aqueous suspension, the process including: extracting one or more active ingredients of a plant material using an extraction solvent, wherein the extraction of the one or more active ingredients of the plant materials comprises: transferring the plant material into a temperature-controlled reactor; adding the extraction solvent to the temperature-controlled reactor, thereby producing an eluant from the plant material; incubating the eluant at a first selected temperature for a pre-determined duration of time; and running the eluent through a filtration process to obtain an extractant solution filtrate and a separated solid plan material product; encapsulating the one or more active ingredients in one or more nanoparticles; and dispersing the one or more nanoparticles in an aqueous suspension.

System and method for treating hydrocarbon-containing feed streams

A water processing system includes a pretreatment system disposed within the water processing system. The pretreatment system may treat a feed stream including oil and brine and to generate a first brine stream. The pretreatment system includes a first filtration system that may receive the feed stream, the first filtration system may separate the feed stream into a hydrocarbon stream and an intermediate brine stream, the intermediate brine stream includes a plurality of minerals, and the hydrocarbon stream includes water, the oil, and suspended solids. The water processing system also includes a mineral removal system fluidly coupled to and disposed downstream from the first filtration system. The mineral removal system may receive and remove the plurality of minerals from the first brine stream output from the pretreatment system. The mineral removal system includes a first mineral removal unit that may remove a first portion of the plurality of minerals from the first brine stream and to generate a second brine stream. The water processing system also includes a hydrocarbon removal system disposed within the pretreatment system and fluidly coupled to the first filtration system. The hydrocarbon removal system may receive the hydrocarbon stream, to recover the oil, and to generate a recovered oil stream.

TEXTILE RECYCLING

A textile recycling method receives textile-waste-to-be-recycled, sorts the waste to isolate cellulose-containing articles from non-cellulose-containing articles, and re-sizes at least some of the cellulose-containing articles to create feedstock. The feedstock is processed in a cellulose solvent reactor, which has at least one ionic liquid. The ionic liquid dissolves intermolecular cellulose bonds of the feedstock to create a spinning dope. Cellulose fibers dissolved in the cellulose-bearing spinning dope solution are extruded in a cellulose coagulation bath reservoir to reconstitute at least some of the cellulose fibers, and the reconstituted fibers are wet-spun to form a continuous cellulose thread that is commercially indistinguishable from virgin fiber thread. Synthetic fiber material is vacuum-extracted or mechanically extracted from the cellulose-bearing solution and recycled into a continuous synthetic thread. Original color of textile-waste-to-be-recycled can be retained or removed, and new color can be added.

PROCESS AND DEVICES FOR EFFICIENT PARTIAL OR TOTAL SOLID-LIQUID SEPARATION USING GAS-CONTROLLED CONDITIONS
20230159882 · 2023-05-25 · ·

A filtration system for downstream processing of a suspension containing a labile solid material in a liquid medium, wherein dissolved gas in liquid environment is controlled to ensure optimal process conditions. The dissolved gas can be controlled by a gas-liquid interface by bubbling; a liquid-liquid interphase transfer process using a gas vector substance; a liquid-solid interphase transfer process using a gas permeable solid or a reaction evolving oxygen or other gas/gases. The retained solid material is removed in batch operations, continuous operations or mixed-type operations. The process can also include further filtration, heat-treatment, and removal of at least a part of the liquid. The filtration system could also process a concentrated suspension which is devoid of the free liquid, then heat-treated and the liquid produced by the treatment removed by further filtration. The solid material can be a biomass.

Filtration assembly for use in aftertreatment systems for internal combustion engines

A filtration assembly structured to filter reductant includes an outer housing and an inner housing. The inner housing is positioned within the outer housing. The inner housing is structured to contain the reductant and operable between a first state in which the inner housing has a first volume and a second state in which the inner housing has a second volume that is larger than the first volume, the inner housing including an end face. The inner housing is separated from the outer housing by a gap when the inner housing is in the first state. A volume of the gap decreases as the inner housing transitions from the first state to the second state and increases as the inner housing transitions from the second state to the first state.

An improved method for preparing persimmon leaf extract. Dried persimmon leaves are obtained and are crushed. Ethanol is added to the dried crushed persimmon leaves and ethanol extraction is used to produce a persimmon leaf extraction solution. The persimmon leaf extraction solution is introduced into a concentrator and a first concentrated solution is produced while the ethanol is recycled. The first concentrated solution is filtered to produce a filtrate. The filtrate is introduced into the concentrator to produce a second concentrated solution. The second concentrated solution is repeatedly extracted with ethyl acetate to produce a second persimmon leaf extraction solution. The second persimmon leaf extraction solution is introduced into a concentrator to produce a third concentrated solution while recycling the ethyl acetate. Vacuum drying is used to dry the third concentrated solution to produce a dried persimmon leaf extract.
