AIR-OIL SEPARATOR WITH JET-ENHANCED IMPACTION AND METHOD ASSOCIATED THEREWITH
The combination of a gas-pressure-driven pump jet nozzle or alternatively Coanda effect nozzle with an impactor nozzle(s) in an air-oil separator for separating oil from blow-by gasses from a crankcase of an internal combustion engine, or for separating liquid aerosol from gas, in general. Such combination enhances impaction efficiency and enables operation at higher pressure differentials (or pressure drop) (dP) without causing excessive backpressure in the air-oil separator.
Blade group for demisting and dedusting
The present invention provides a blade group for demisting and dedusting, comprising a plurality of blades that are annularly arranged and a support mechanism for fixing the blades; wherein the blade comprises a section of curved plate, a cross section of the curved plate being a gradually-varied arc curve whose curvature increases progressively along an airflow direction. When gas carrying fine mist droplets or fine dust particles are passing through the blade group for demisting and dedusting, since the gas is different from the mist droplets or dust particles in terms of mass, separation of the gas from the liquid or dust under the effect of inertia is promoted. Especially, the gradually-varied blade curve enables the droplets or dusts to be captured and removed efficiently under the effect of a constantly-varied inertia and a drag force, which remarkably improves the working efficiency in combination with a washing device.
Compressor system separator tank baffle
A separation tank useful to separate a compressed gas from a byproduct of compression (such as a lubricant/coolant used in the compression process) can include one or more baffles. The baffles used in the separation tank can include a number of passages to permit a flow of compressed gas to pass. The passages can include a louver to assists in directing the flow and/or assist in further separation of the compressed gas from the lubricant/coolant. The louvers can appear on one side of the baffle, and in one form are located solely on the downstream side of the baffle. The baffle can include a relief for liquid leveling within the tank. Any number of approaches can be used to make the baffle, including cutting and/or stamping.
Moisture separator configuration
Moisture separator configuration for separating water droplets from steam of a flow having a mixture of steam and water droplets, such that the cited flow travels through the moisture separator configuration so that this separation is achieved. The moisture separator configuration includes a plurality of plates oriented in line with the flow. The plurality of plates form channels through which the flow travels. The channels have progressive cross section variation along the flow direction, in order to collect progressively the water droplets separated from the steam in the flow.
Water separator including a riser pipe and a sealing element as well as a fuel cell including a water separator, and a motor vehicle including a fuel cell
The invention relates to a water separator for separating product water from a fuel cell, a fuel cell including a water separator and a motor vehicle including a fuel cell. To design the water separator to be as compact as possible and to be able to operate it in a frost-proof manner, it is provided according to the invention that the water separator has a sealing element and a riser pipe extending through the sealing element.

Particulate separator for the removal of large particulate matter from ventilation system air streams
The present invention relates to a particle separator configured to be operatively connected between an enclosure hood and a ventilation system. In practice, an air stream containing particulate matter from an industrial process is directed through an enclosure hood, through the particle separator and into the ventilation system. Relatively large particles are removed from the air stream in the particle separator before the air stream reaches the ventilation system. This reduces the abrasion and general damage that can occur from relatively large particles moving through the duct structure of a ventilation system.
Vented dynamic pressure recovery module for aircraft ECS
A water extractor for an environmental control system of an aircraft includes a water extraction vessel arranged in fluid communication with the separation mechanism. The water extraction vessel includes a first portion for receiving a first airstream and a second portion for receiving a second airstream. A stationary diffuser is mounted within the second portion.
