SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING GASES
The invention includes a gas processing system for transforming a hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into outflow gas products, where the system includes a gas delivery subsystem, a plasma reaction chamber, and a microwave subsystem, with the gas delivery subsystem in fluid communication with the plasma reaction chamber, so that the gas delivery subsystem directs the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into the plasma reaction chamber, and the microwave subsystem directs microwave energy into the plasma reaction chamber to energize the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas, thereby forming a plasma in the plasma reaction chamber, which plasma effects the transformation of a hydrocarbon in the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into the outflow gas products, which comprise acetylene and hydrogen. The invention also includes methods for the use of this gas processing system.
CONTINUOUS-MOTION DIRECT AIR CAPTURE SYSTEM
A system and a method for continuously separating carbon dioxide from gas mixtures, utilizing a continuous loop of porous monoliths which support a sorbent within its pores. Continuously exposing a portion of the continuous loop of monoliths to a flow of gas mixture containing a minor proportion of carbon dioxide, to adsorb carbon dioxide from the flow. The loop passes through a sealed regeneration and carbon dioxide capture assembly located astride a portion of the loop, and which is capable of sealingly containing a monolith in relative movement through the assembly. The assembly chamber comprises a plurality of separately sealed zones, including at least one zone for purging oxygen from the monoliths, -a subsequent zone for heating the monolith to release the adsorbed carbon dioxide, and another cooling zone for cooling the monolith prior to reentering the adsorption portion of the loop where it is exposed to oxygen.
Exhaust gas liquefying device
An exhaust gas liquefying device is provided for reducing pollution from vehicles includes a casing generally comprised of two interconnected chambers. The casing is attached to the rear portion of a vehicle such as a car or small truck. The casing has an entry port to collect the exhaust gas from an exhaust pipe coming from the vehicle. At least one fan provides additional air and a condenser coil cools down the exhaust gas into a liquid which precipitates the carbon in the carbon dioxide. The added ambient air provided by the fan helps in evaporating the liquid which exits from an evacuation port.
Methods for Absorbing a Targeted Compound from a Gas Stream for Subsequent Processing or Use
The present invention describes methods for absorbing a targeted chemical compound from a gas stream into a scrubbing solution for various uses and with various benefits. Methods are described to produce a gas stream that can be further processed with operational benefits, such as through condensing and wastewater treatment with a lower load on the wastewater treatment system. Methods are described for adsorbing the targeted compound with reduced condensation of water from the gas stream. Methods are described for producing a liquid stream comprising an absorbed form of the targeted compound for use as a saleable product, such as adsorbing ammonia for the production of a fertilizer, wherein the concentration of the absorbed form may be increased through reduced condensation from the gas stream. Methods are described for producing a lower volume liquid waste stream from the absorption process through the use of reduced condensation of the gas stream.
Dehumidifier means and a charging station comprising the same
A dehumidifier means includes: an electrothermal converter element; and a collecting container, arranged beneath the electrothermal converter element, for collecting condensate forming thereon, the collecting container having a drain through which the condensate from the collecting container is dischargeable out of the dehumidifier means. In an embodiment, the dehumidifier means includes a support plate on which a holding frame is arranged. The electrothermal converter element is inserted into the holding frame.
Materials, systems, and methods for CO2 capture and conversion
A method of capturing CO.sub.2 and converting the captured CO.sub.2 into useful byproducts includes providing a material including a material matrix holding an ionic liquid, exposing the material to a source of thermal energy to capture CO.sub.2 within the material, removing the material from exposure to the source of thermal energy, and washing the material with a solution to convert the captured CO.sub.2 and wash the converted, captured CO.sub.2 from the material as filtrate. Materials and systems for capturing CO.sub.2 and converting the captured CO.sub.2 into useful byproducts are also provided.
Process and apparatus for separating carbon dioxide from a waste gas of a fluid bed catalytic cracking (FCC) installation
In a process for separating carbon dioxide from a waste gas (3) of a fluid bed catalytic cracking installation (1) containing carbon dioxide, nitrogen and possibly carbon monoxide, the waste gas (3) is separated by adsorption to form a gas enriched in carbon dioxide and depleted in nitrogen (29) and a gas rich in nitrogen and depleted in carbon dioxide (31), and at least a portion of the gas enriched in carbon dioxide and depleted in nitrogen is separated in a separation device (30) by way of separation at a temperature of less than 0° C. by partial condensation and/or by distillation to form a fluid rich in carbon dioxide (35) and a fluid depleted in carbon dioxide (37).
Lightweight inorganic membrane module
An apparatus and system for separating a liquid from a mixed gas stream includes a porous graphite foam support comprising graphite foam with pores having a first pore size and a membrane support surface. A porous condensation membrane layer is provided on the membrane support surface, and interlocked with the pores of the graphite foam. The condensation membrane layer includes capillary condensation pores having a second pore size that is less than the first pore size. A mixed gas stream passageway is in fluid communication with the condensation membrane layer. A liquid collection assembly collects condensed liquid from the condensation pores and the graphite foam support pores. A gas inlet is provided for flowing the mixed gas stream into the mixed gas stream passageway. A gas outlet is provided for exhausting gas from the mixed gas stream passageway.
