CARBON CAPTURE SYSTEM, APPARATUS, AND METHOD
20210396168 · 2021-12-23 ·

A combined power conversion and carbon capture and recycling subsystem including a fossil fueled oxidation unit, a physical adsorbent CO2 capture medium, rotor, motor, heater, CO2 compressor, diffuser and water storage tank. Exhaust gas from fossil fuel oxidation is scrubbed of CO2 via passage across a physical adsorbent and then released from the adsorbent via fuel oxidation waste heat. High CO2 concentration scrubber exhaust air is then compressed and fed to a diffuser which facilitates dissociation of the CO2 into water where it is temporarily stored for use in watering plants. Carbon from fossil fuel is recycled back into the environment and permanently stored as biomass by natural means of photosynthesis.

A waterproof, mildew resistant, cover for a water backflow prevention apparatus is provided that provides protection of the apparatus's control from UV damage is provided. The cover is constructed from a closed-cell polymeric foam and can be cut to fit when installed. The cover can be anchored to stakes in the ground to prevent dislodgment by wind or animals. The installed cover's open end can take advantage of heat in the ground to maximize the cover's internal temperature when the cover is exposed to low air temperatures.

Irrigation system and method

A method and system for irrigating a field adjacent a watercourse is disclosed comprising a plurality of pumps along the watercourse and measuring from time to time at a plurality of measuring locations the salinity, the pH, the temperature and the turbidity of the water. The measuring locations are different from the pumping locations. A real time salinity, pH, temperature and turbidity at the pumping locations is predicted from the measured values and the pumps selectively disabled or enabled on the predicted salinity, pH, temperature and/or the turbidity.

Turf cover and emitter for a water drainage system
11371233 · 2022-06-28 ·

A pop-up emitter includes a conduit, a cover plate, a pop-up lid, and a clip. The conduit defines a flow channel configured to establish fluid communication with a drainage system. The cover plate protrudes radially outward from a top end of the conduit and about the flow channel. The cover plate defines a slot along a top surface of the cover plate. The pop-up lid has a horizontally extending pin protruding outward therefrom. The pin is disposed within the slot. The pop-up lid is configured to pivot about the pin to transition between a first position where the plate covers the flow channel along the top end and a second position where the flow channel is exposed such that water is emitted therefrom. The clip is disposed within the slot and engages the pin such that the clip retains the pin within the slot.

WATERSHED AND MULCH SLOT SYSTEM
20220183213 · 2022-06-16 ·

Methods of preparing soil for farming to enhance the capture and retention of moisture. Steps may include forming an elongated slot in the soil of an agricultural field between and substantially parallel to adjacent crop rows. The slot is filled with mulch so that a portion of the mulch extends above the surface of the soil proximate the slot. One or more layers of salt and biochar, or a premix of salt and biochar, are then applied to the soil surface between the crop row and the slot to encourage runoff of surface water into the mulch slot. A surfactant and cation exchange stimulant is applied to the mulch within the slot.

A spray boom for an agricultural machine includes a first section having a first end and a second end and a second section having a first end pivotably coupled to the second end of the first section. The first section includes a first support member and a second support member disposed above the first support member. A centerline of the second support member is horizontally offset from a centerline of the first support member. Meanwhile, the second section includes a first support member. The spray boom may be configured in an extended position or a folded position. In the folded position, the second section is disposed above the first support member of the first section and adjacent the second support member.

Turf management

A turf management system includes an irrigation system for providing water to the turf at a turf site, and an irrigation evaluation system for evaluating the performance of the irrigation system. The irrigation evaluation system segments the turf site into irrigation management units, where each of the irrigation management units includes at least one sprinkler head. Qualities of the turf are measured to generate collected data points. The data points are used by the irrigation evaluation system to compute a value for the turf in each of the irrigation management units. The values can then be used to identify irrigation management units having common characteristics. The values can be used to define irrigation management zones for controlling the irrigation system.
