SIZE-VARYING BUBBLE COMPLEX AND METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME
Proposed is to provide a size-varying bubble complex and a method of preparing the same. More specifically, the size-varying bubble complex and the method of preparing the same are proposed, wherein the bubble complex is capable of being repeatedly varied in size by changing phases of perfluorocarbon by external stimuli, by including a shell that encapsulates a core made of the perfluorocarbon and protects the core by expanding and contracting together when the core expands and contracts.
Systems, Methods, and Apparatus for Utilizing a Resuspension Tank
Systems, methods and apparatus for Shear TUrbulence Resuspension Mesocosm (STURM) tanks, with high instantaneous bottom shear stress and realistic water column mixing. The tanks can be programmed to produce tidal or episodic sediment resuspension for extended time periods, over muddy sediments with a variety of infaunal benthic organisms. A resuspension paddle produces substantially uniform bottom shear stress across the sediment surface while gently mixing a 1 m deep overlying water column. The STURM tanks can be programmed to different magnitudes, frequencies, and durations of bottom shear stress and thus resuspension with proportional water column turbulence levels over a wide range of mixing settings for benthic-pelagic coupling experiments.
Evaporation-limiting inserts for reagent containers and related methods of use
An insert for a liquid-holding container may include a body comprising a wall, open first and second ends, and a lumen extending from the open first end to the open second end. The insert also may include a plurality of first openings formed in the wall, the first openings being situated between the first and second ends, and each of the first openings defining an area, and one or more second openings formed in the wall, the one or more second openings being situated between the first and second ends, each of the one or more second openings defining an area that is greater than the area defined by any of the first openings, where at least one of the one or more second openings is situated closer to the first end than any of the first openings, and wherein each of the first and second openings is sized to permit the passage of a liquid.
INSTALLATION MEANS FOR A DEVICE FOR TREATING A NET FLUID WITH A WORKING FLUID
The installation means for a device for treating, in particular humidifying and/or cleaning, a net fluid, in particular a gas, by means of a working fluid, in particular a liquid, and particularly for cooling water vapor by means of spray water and/or drip water, is provided with at least one installation package (10) of several square, waved mat elements (12) being arranged in an overlying or adjoining manner Adjacent mat elements (12) are mechanically connected to each other by pin-hole-arrangements in which pins (42) protruding from the one mat element (12) and each comprising a free end are inserted in receiving openings (34) formed in the other mat element (12). The receiving openings (34) each comprise an opening edge (36) from which a flexible clamping tongue (38) protrudes into the receiving opening (34). Each receiving opening (34) comprises an area size limited by the free end of the at least one clamping tongue (38) and the region of the opening edge (36) opposite to said end, or by the free ends of several, in particular two or three clamping tongues (38), wherein the area size (40) being smaller than the cross-section of the pin (42) in the state of the pin (42) in which the pin (42) is received by the receiving opening (34), and in which the at least one clamping tongue (38) is bend with its free end to the free end of the pin and abuts against the pin (42).
Process and apparatus for recovering hydrocracked soft pitch
Settling unconverted pitch from a SHC reactor effluent before fractionation improves efficiency of fractionation of slurry hydrocracked products. The recycle of soft pitch to the SHC reactor results in improved reactor operation by avoiding the recycle of lighter products which vaporize in the reactor to occupy reactor space and the recycle of hard pitch which will not convert. The settling step facilitated by mixing with a solvent can achieve a separation between soft pitch and hard pitch not achievable in a fractionation column.
Complexes of Celecoxib and its salts and derivatives, process for the preparation thereof and pharmaceutical compositions containing them
Disclosed herein are stable complexes with controlled particle size, increased apparent solubility and increased dissolution rate comprising as active compound Celecoxib, its salts, or derivatives thereof, which is useful in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain especially in cancer related acute pain, primary dysmenorrhea. More specifically, the complexes possess instantaneous redispersibility, increased apparent solubility and permeability that provide faster onset of action for acute pain relief and lower GI related side effects. Further disclosed are methods of formulating and manufacturing the complexes described herein, pharmaceutical compositions, and uses and methods of treatment.
OLIGOMERISER WITH AN IMPROVED FEED SYSTEM
In an embodiment, a reactor for carrying out a melt transesterification reaction at a reactor temperature of 160 to 300 C. and a reactor pressure of 5 to 200 mbar, comprises a cylindrical tank comprising a top, a side, and a bottom, wherein the bottom is convex, extending away from the top; a stirring shaft disposed within the cylindrical tank along an axis thereof so that it is rotatable from outside of the cylindrical tank; a stirring blade extending from the stirring shaft in the cylindrical tank; a reactant solution inlet located on the bottom; and a reaction solution outlet located on the bottom. The reactor can be used for the polymerization of a polycarbonate oligomer.
Reaction device with air-lift type internal circulation
The present invention relates to a reaction device with air-lift type internal circulation which includes: a vertical cylindrical volume (1), more than one draft tube vertical element (2) positioned within the cylindrical volume (1) in such a manner as to form an gap with the walls of said volume, more than one gas distributor (3), each of which is positioned on the bottom of said device; wherein: each vertical internal element (2) has an internal diameter which increases along the vertical axis of said element, and the ratio between the total height of the reaction device and the internal diameter of the reaction device is less than 1.
Tamper-proof container insert
A tamper-proof insert for use with a closed loop system, a dispensing system, a gravity draining system or other systems. The insert is designed to be inserted into the throat of a container such as a bottle. A retention lug ring is secured to the lower end of the insert. The upper ends of the retention lugs of the retention lug ring engage the inside of the container to prevent the insert from being manually pulled upwardly and outwardly from the throat of the container. If the insert is pulled from the container against the resistance of the retention lugs, the lugs will break-away from the insert and it will be evident that the insert has experienced tampering.
Apparatus with a flow diverter and flow elements for mixing multiphase flowing particles, and a method thereof
An apparatus (100) for mixing multiphase flowing particles. The apparatus (100) comprises a conduit (100a) adapted to channelize the multiphase flowing particles. At least one flow diverter (101) is positioned in the conduit (100a), which is adapted to divert the flow of multiphase flowing particles into a plurality of flow streams. Further, at least one flow element (102) is disposed in the conduit (100a) along at least one of the plurality of flow streams, which is configured to inject fluid onto the plurality of flow streams at a velocity greater than the velocity of the plurality of flow streams. This induces a swirling flow of at least one of the plurality of flow streams, thereby facilitating mixing of the multiphase flowing particles in the conduit (100a).
