Sun tracking light distributor system
A sun-tracking light distributor system for use in an open-ended photo-bioreactor having an aqueous liquid for a photosynthetic culture, comprising: at least one light distributor each including a concentrator supporting section with a light entry surface adapted to receive sunlight rays, an elongated rod section with a light distribution surface adapted to redirect the received sunlight rays within the aqueous liquid, a light concentrating element provided at the light entry surface which concentrates within the elongated rod at least a portion of the sunlight rays received at the light entry surface; a displacement system operatively connected to the light distributors and adapted to change an orientation of the light entry surface of the light distributors to track a solar position.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RECOVERING MICROPLASTICS FROM WATER
To provide a new technique for efficiently recovering microplastics from water to be treated, in which problems of conventional techniques such as large energy consumption are solved. A method for recovering microplastics from water to be treated containing the microplastics, the method comprising a step of allowing algae having microplastic adsorption and recovery ability to be present in the water to be treated, in which the algae are algae that secrete a sticky substance, and an amount of a sticky substance secreted by the algae is such that a volume of a sticky substance secreted to an outside of cells is 0.25 times or more and 100 times or less compared to a cell volume.
METHOD OF FACILITATING GROWTH OF SPECIFIC MICROORGANISMS
A method of using algae to remove a contaminant or pollutant from a first fluid is provided. The method can include providing a growing apparatus having a first reservoir containing the first fluid and a second reservoir containing a second fluid, and growing the algae using the growing apparatus. The method can further include exposing the algae to the first fluid within the first reservoir where the algae uptakes the contaminant or pollutant from the first fluid, and exposing the algae via a belt to the second fluid in the second reservoir where the algae is stimulated to release the contaminant or pollutant. Exposing the algae to the first fluid within the first reservoir or the second fluid may change a growth rate of the algae.

LIGHT SOURCE MODULE
A light source module includes a wiring board and a LED array electrically connected to the wiring board. The LED array can be driven to emit a first group of emission peaks in 300 nm≦λ.sub.max<450 nm, a second group of emission peaks in 450 nm≦λ.sub.max<550 nm, and a third group of emission peaks in 550 nm for matching the spectrum of sunlight underwater. When the maximum peak intensity of the emission peaks in the second group is taken as 1.0, the peak intensity I.sub.a of each emission peak in the first group is in a range of 0<I.sub.a≦0.9, and the peak intensity I.sub.b of each emission peak in the third group is in a range of 0<I.sub.b≦0.9. Accordingly, the light source module is suitable for aquatic species and can enhance growing rate of the aquatic species.
ANTI-ALGAE SALINE AQUACULTURE SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method of irrigating a saline aquaculture system to control pests is described herein. The method includes acquiring a second set of environmental condition data on a computing device using a sensor coupled to a platform, such that the platform is configured to grow a salt-tolerant plant therein; comparing the second set of environmental condition data to a first set of environmental condition data acquired at a previous time point; determining whether freshwater accumulation has increased or will increase at a future time point on a surface of the platform; when it is determined that the freshwater accumulation on the surface of the platform has increased or will increase relative to the previous time point, activating a saltwater distribution device coupled to the platform; and reducing an accumulation of one or more of: insects, caterpillars, fungi, and bacteria on the surface of the platform.
