Tumbler cell for mineral recovery using engineered media

Apparatus uses engineered collection media to recover mineral particles in a slurry. The apparatus has a tumbler cell and a rotation device to rotate the tumbler cell. The tumbler cell has a container to hold a mixture of the engineered media and the slurry containing the mineral particles. The container is turned such that at least part of the mixture in the upper part of the container is caused to interact with at least part of the mixture in the lower part of the container. As such, the contact between the engineered media and the mineral particles is enhanced. The surfaces of the engineered media are functionalized with a chemical having molecules to attract the mineral particles to the surfaces so as to form mineral laden media. After the mineral laden media are discharged from the tumbler cell, the mineral particles can be separated from the engineered media by stripping.

Rotation mixer with continuous belt drive

A rotation mixer including a housing, a drive unit coupled to the housing, a carriage mounted on the drive unit for rotation relative to the housing, and a basket mounted for rotation relative to the carriage. The basket receives material to be mixed. The carriage includes an arm and a drive line coupled to the arm. The arm is mounted on the drive unit for rotation about a first axis relative to the housing, and the drive line converts rotation of the arm into rotation of the basket about a second axis relative to the arm during use of the rotation mixer. The drive line illustratively includes a belt and plurality of pulleys upon which the belt travels in a continuous loop, the belt engaging with a gear on the basket to cause rotation of the basket.

A flavouring apparatus for coating product in flavouring is provided. The apparatus comprises a flavouring receptacle configured for receiving a portion of product and a dose of flavouring. The flavouring receptacle comprises an open first end arranged to receive the portion of product in use, a peripheral sidewall at least partly defining a flavouring volume extending from the first end of the flavouring receptacle, the flavouring volume for receiving the portion of product and dose of flavouring, and an ejecting member movable relative to the peripheral sidewall through the flavouring volume towards the first end for ejecting a flavoured portion of product out of the flavouring volume through the first end of the flavouring receptacle. The apparatus comprises a drive system configured to rotate at least the peripheral sidewall of the flavouring receptacle so as to cause mixing of the portion of product and the dose of flavouring in the flavouring volume. In use, the flavouring receptacle is arranged such that the portion of product and the dose of flavouring are retained in the flavouring volume during rotation of the peripheral sidewall. A corresponding method of coating product in flavouring is also provided.

Rotor base (6a) receives a bearing (9) for turning of cup holder (7). Rotor disk (6a) has two side flaps for rollers (10) of the rotation belt (11a) of the cup holder (7) which has a shaft (12) and bearing (9) fastened on the rotor base (6a). Pulley (14) provokes the turning of cup holder (7) by way of the belt (11a). Cup holder (7) is a hollow cylinder with eccentric turning that cause strong agitation of the recipient with liquid. Turning movement of the cup holder (7) occurs on the two shafts which employ only one belt (11a). Mixer has two or four cup holders (7) and one or three tensioner rollers (16) on rotor base (6b) or (6c).
