The invention relates to a classifier arrangement for a vertical roller mill having at least two classifiers. Each classifier has an active rotor which is rotatable about an axis of rotation. The axis of rotation is aligned at least at an angle of 50 to the vertical. The invention is characterized in that around each classifier a guide vane arrangement is provided at least partially surrounding the said classifier and having at least one guide vane. The guide vane has an open profile towards the axis of rotation. Furthermore, the invention relates to a vertical roller mill having a classifier arrangement according to the invention.

In some embodiments, the inner and outer rings each have surface protrusions such that rock or other materials may be crushed between the inner and outer rings as they rotate. In some embodiments, the inner ring has a circumferential ridge that fits within a circumferential groove of the outer ring such that rock or other materials may be crushed between the rings. In some embodiments the rings operate at differential speeds with respect to each other to induce shear forces on the material to be crushed.

A multi-purpose food grinding machine having an open topped cylindrical vessel that is rotated by a gear reduced motor. The motor is located within a hollow housing. A keyed motor shaft engages a mating aperture in the bottom of the cylinder. A frame holds the housing in place under the vessel. A central shaft is held by the frame and extends downward into the vessel. Rotatable grinding members are attached to the bottom of the shaft so that as the vessel is rotated by the gear motor, the grinding members rotate at the bottom of the vessel causing any food items trapped between the grinding members and the floor of the vessel to be crushed. The grinding members are forced downward by a spring biased mechanism. A spring biased inside wall scraper forces food to drop back down into the vessel.

A ring duct with blade ring for a transport gas flow ascending around the grinding table is provided. An annular gap distance is present between a downwardly projecting oversize material cone and the upper region of the grinding rollers, through which annular gap distance a proportion of fine particles is also fed back in a recirculating manner to the grinding table. In order to overcome this disadvantage, a barrier gas flow flowing from inside to outwards is provided in the region of the gap distance, whereby the recirculation of grinding particles of a certain size can be prevented.
