Beneficiation of values from ores with a heap leach process

This invention relates to a process for recovering value metals from sulphide ore, including steps of crushing ore in a primary crusher (14) to a size of about 40 cm and less, passing the crushed ore through one or more of the following pre-beneficiation processes such as bulk sorting (16) and screening (20) followed by coarse floatation (46/50), or gravity separation or magnetic separation. A waste stream (54) from the pre-beneficiation process/es with a particle size greater than 100 μm is stacked in a heap (26) and subjected to a heap leach. This integrated process utilises the pre-beneficiation techniques best suited to the characteristics of a particular orebody; and during the pre-beneficiation simultaneously creating a low grade stream that yields significantly higher recoveries than achievable by normal heap leaching of low grade run of mine ore.

An apparatus for processing magnetite iron ore, including an upstream cyclone and a mill for grinding particles, wherein the upstream cyclone is arranged to operate as a splitter by diverting material in an overflow of the upstream cyclone to bypass the mill and by feeding material in an underflow of the upstream cyclone to the mill.

WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ORE MINING OPERATION

Processes of extracting mineral deposits in ore include treating a saline source, e.g., seawater, to reduce a concentration of one or more multivalent ions (e.g., Ca.sup.2+, Mg.sup.2+, SO.sub.4.sup.2−) dissolved in the saline source by passing the seawater through one or more nanofilters to produce treated saline water while maintain a certain concentration of dissolved monovalent ions (e.g., (Na.sup.+, K.sup.+ and Cl.sup.−) in the treated saline water. The treated saline water can be used in an operation to extract minerals from ore such as in a flotation operation to extract minerals from ore, or to consolidate tailings generated from an extraction of minerals from ore, or both.

Method for Separating Calcite-rich Low-grade Fluorite Barite Paragenic Ore

A method for separating a calcite-rich low-grade fluorite barite paragenic ore, includes the following steps: S1, crushing; S2, performing classification on a crushed ore to obtain a fine-grained ore, a medium-grained ore and a coarse-grained ore; S3, performing jigging gravity separation on the medium-grained ore and the coarse-grained ore to obtain first barite concentrates and jigging tailings; S4, performing color sorting on the jigging tailings to obtain calcite minerals and color sorting tailings; S5, combining the fine-grained ore and the color sorting tailings, and then performing ore grinding to obtain feeding materials in flotation; S6, performing flotation on the feeding materials in flotation to obtain fluorite concentrates and flotation tailings; S7, performing chute gravity separation on the flotation tailings to obtain second barite concentrates and chute tailings. The method achieves an effect of obtaining high-quality acid-grade fluorite concentrates (CaF.sub.2≥98%).
