Cell separation apparatus and methods of use
Cell separation systems and methods of separating cells are disclosed. In an embodiment, a cell separation system is described that comprises a non-transitory storage device that executes a centrifugation program to separate cell volume from biologic material volume; a heating mechanism; a containment mechanism; and an assembly comprised of a single-walled centrifugation bowl. In an embodiment, methods of separating cells are disclosed whereby cells are separated by agitating a volume of biologic material and a volume digestion media to form a digested volume of biologic material; centrifuging the digested volume of biologic material; removing a portion of a resulting waste via at least one fluid outlet; isolating a different portion of the waste, and removing the concentrated cell volumes from the reservoir.
BATCH CENTRIFUGAL CONCENTRATOR
In one form, the present invention is a Batch Centrifugal Concentrator adapted to mitigate the adverse effects associated with dirty feedwater including a rotary bowl having means to clear solid particulate matter in a high velocity flow stream. In another form, the present invention is a seal assembly adapted for use with a batch centrifugal concentrator. The seal assembly including a non-rotating lower portion and a rotating upper portion. The non-rotating lower portion includes a water in/out port, and the rotating upper portion includes a water in/out port. Each port is interconnected by a conduit that is adapted to enable fluid to flow into, through and out of the seal assembly. A gap is provided between the said lower and upper portions. The stationary portion includes an air inlet port that is adapted to create and maintain a zone of positive pressure within said gap.

Recovering base oil from contaminated invert emulsion fluid for making new oil-/synthetic-based fluids
Base oil can be recovered from contaminated O/SBF by combining a chemical process with a mechanical process. The chemical treatment includes adding a demulsifier, an anionic surfactant, a non-ionic surfactant and/or a mutual solvent to the contaminated O/SBF in an amount effective to separate the base oil from the contaminated O/SBF fluid followed by mechanical separation of oil from water, and optionally from any solids present. The recovered base oil (i.e. conventional drilling fluid, conductive drilling fluid and constant rheology drilling fluid, etc.) may then be reformulated to make a new OBM of the same type from which the base oil was recovered, or as a fuel for engines.
Centrifugal separator for removing impurities from a fluid stream
An apparatus for removing impurities from a fluid stream includes a support structure, a separator unit rotatably mounted on the support structure, and a motor and/or an array of vanes for rotating the separator unit on the support structure. The separator unit has a longitudinal axis of rotation extending through a longitudinal tube disposed centrally within the separator unit. The longitudinal tube is connected or connectable to a pressurized source of fluid requiring separation, the longitudinal tube having one or more openings for receiving fluid under pressure from the said source and one or more lateral openings for introducing the fluid into the separator unit.

Method for separating low density particles from feed slurries
In a method for separating low density particles from feed slurries, a bubbly mixture is formed in a downcomer and issues into a mid region in a chamber. An inverted reflux classifier is formed by parallel inclined plates below the mid region allowing for efficient separation of low density particles which rise up to form a densely packed foam in the top of the chamber, and denser particles which fall downwardly to an outlet.
