COMPRESSOR CENTRIFUGAL FILTER DISC AND ASSEMBLY
20200197955 · 2020-06-25 ·

A centrifugal filter assembly useful to remove lubricant from a mixed flow exiting a breather of a lubricated compressor. The centrifugal filter assembly can include a stack of filter discs disposed in a housing. The housing can have a threaded opening to be fastened to the breather. A center support including a central shaft and arms are used to mount the discs. The discs can include flow guide and gap setting features. Mixed air can enter an inner hub of the filter stack and then progress in the space between filter discs until exiting the stack at a radially outer location. The mixed air can be received into the inner hub after first passing through a bearing used to support the center support, but other routes into the inner hub are also contemplated.

Apparatus for cleaning crankcase gases

A rotor-type apparatus for centrifugal cleaning of crankcase gases from a combustion engine. The rotor is hydraulically driven by pressurized oil by means of a turbine wheel located in an oil collection chamber. A pressure equalizing and gas discharging conduit, which extends into the collection chamber and has an upper aperture located above a liquid level of the oil in the collection chamber during the operation, is connected to an outlet conduit for the propellant oil from the collection chamber.

SEPARATION ASSEMBLY WITH A SINGLE-PIECE IMPULSE TURBINE

A separation assembly comprises a housing, a jet that expels a fluid within the housing, and a turbine positioned within the housing. The fluid causes the turbine to rotate about a center rotational axis within the housing. The turbine comprises a first axial end, a second axial end, and a plurality of vanes extending axially relative to the center rotational axis from the first axial end to the second axial end. The plurality of vanes defines axially-extending channels between each of the plurality of vanes. The first axial end comprises a radially-extending structure that axially blocks the flow of the fluid through the first axial end. The second axial end does not comprise any structure that axially blocks the flow of the fluid through the second axial end.
