Stick applicator
A stick applicator for applying a liquid stored in a hard ampoule, comprising a hollow plastic stick body, designed for receiving the ampoule and having a closed end and an open end, the wall of which is sufficiently flexible to allow the ampoule held in the plastic stick body to be broken without using an implement and thereby let the liquid out into the interior of the plastic stick body, and comprising an applicator head, which is fitted on the open end of the plastic stick body and comprises a foam, felt or fibre body, wherein the plastic stick body has at least in certain portions a separate sheathing layer to increase its perforation resistance to ampoule fragments and near its open end retaining means for securely holding the applicator head and/or retaining means for securely holding the ampoule inside it.

Method and device for producing a structured varnish surface
The invention relates to a method for producing a structured, at least partly optically transparent varnish surface on a surface of a substrate board, preferably of a wood material board, having a decoration. The steps of the method include applying a transparent or at least partly transparent varnish to an applicator roll thereby producing a structured varnish surface and transferring the structured varnish surface to a substrate board having a decoration. The varnish is applied to the applicator roll by a plurality of digitally controlled nozzles in a distribution defining a structure and/or is transformed on the applicator roll into a distribution defining a structure. Furthermore, a device for carrying out the method is described.

Structure forming apparatus, method of manufacturing a structure, and structure
Provided is a structure forming apparatus, including: a roller provided to be rotatable, having a length in an axial direction of the rotation, and capable of transmitting an energy beam; a retaining member arranged to face the roller such that a slit region having a length in the axial direction is formed between the retaining member and the roller, and capable of retaining a material to be cured by energy of the energy beam at least in the slit region; an irradiation unit configured to selectively radiate the energy beam to the slit region through the roller to cure the material so that a sheet-like structure is formed; and a take-up reel configured to take up the sheet-like structure thus formed.
Adhesive Transfer System
An adhesive transfer system for applying a pattern of adhesive to a web of tipping paper as it is being fed through a smoking article filter assembly unit is disclosed. It comprises a transfer roller and an applicator roller. The transfer roller has an engraved pattern on its surface that corresponds to the pattern of adhesive to be applied to the tipping paper web. The applicator roller is nipped with the transfer roller so that adhesive received on its surface is transferred from said engraved region onto the applicator roller as the transfer roller and applicator roller rotate to form an adhesive pattern on the applicator roller for subsequent transfer onto a moving web of tipping paper in contact with said applicator roller. The engraved pattern comprises individual adhesive containing cells to break up adhesive that coats the engraved region of the transfer roller.
Dispenser actuator assembly
A dispenser actuator assembly (100) has base member (102) and an actuator arm (104) that is configured to crush a glass ampoule assembly (10). The glass ampoule assembly (10) has a rupturable glass ampoule (12) containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule (12) is contained within an outer container (14), the outer container (14) having a first open end (22) and a second closed end (24). The glass ampoule assembly (10) has an applicator (16) positioned in the first open end (22). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) has the base member (102) that is configured to mount on the outer container (14). The actuator arm (104) is pivotally connected to the base member (102). The actuator arm (104) is pivotable from a first position to a second position that is configured to engage the outer container (14) to crush the glass ampoule (12) wherein the flowable material (M) is dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly (10).

COLOR CUSTOMIZATION OF ARTICLES
Kits and methods are provided for color customization of articles by applying ink to regions of decreased pigment density. By creating tension over these regions during application of the ink, the ink may be preferentially transferred to those regions.
